Would never, never, never eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer actually watch an awards show; but, happy to see that Phoenix and Zellweger…two of my long time favorites...won. Especially Phoenix; thought he was long overdue.
Of course, if Driver had won I, and gazillions of Star Wars fans in this and every other universe, would have been over the moon. Back-to-back nominations...not too shabby.
Also happy to see Egerton (along with that other guy whose name I can't quite remember ) win for their song: (I’m Gonna) Love Me Again.
Been waiting for “Parasite” to come to cable; really looking forward to seeing it.
By the by: Seems like the usual "Heavy Hitters" were shutout.

I only watched about 10 minutes of it and then gave up on it. There is something very awkward about the monologues and presentations to me. The only year I watched the Oscars intently was the year that Titanic was in contention because I loved that movie so much.

I think that's because they are trying so hard to sound spontaneous (when we all know a lot of it is scripted).
Plus, I guess reading live while trying to make your remarks seem off the cuff is a lot harder than learning lines and then shooting from a script on a set.
Plus, plus, even some of that scripted stuff is cringe-worthy.
Plus, plus, plus let’s not forget that some of them have been known to imbibe a few: before, during, and in between....
