Well, I wanted to leave a couple of cool emojis but it looks like the site is blocking them?
Hmm. That's weird, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Were you trying to use emojis from your computer/phone or by putting a colon and then typing a word and seeing what pictures popped up?

I have been able to use (for the most part) the emojis that are part of my computer system (windows) but couldn't get it to work at all. I don't like TMDb's way (colon, etc., it's a pain in the butt). But I was told by one of the mods that Travis was bringing back the other program (see link), but it hasn't shown up yet.

brat, it'll be on the forthcoming [which already exists, though only mods are so far using it] new v5 version of TMDb that'll be publicly rolled out soon. Mods have daily been on that TMDb version since mid November. The better emojis (which so far can be seen in posts only when on v5, otherwise the usual emojis of the last few years continue to appear) were added to it in late Nov. On v5, you access them via a colon, same as on current TMDb.

gen, I know we've had this conversation before. But why can't Travis make them accessible like they were before (clicking the highlighted 'here')? Why the hassle of using the colon & then having to 'name' what emoticon we want. Before the 'whole shebang' showed up on ONE PAGE & we could choose the one we wanted. Sorry whine over.

Here is a song that fits well in this thread. I loved Debarge so much when I was in the sixth grade that I wanted to marry El Debarge and I made my father memorize the names of everyone in the group.

Good questions - and I don't know the definite answers. Having said that, I think I recall Travis once mentioning, the other month, something about a licensing agreement having expired, which I believe may have been why he disconnected from the prior emojis way.
Incidentally, Travis made a comment this morning that seemed to imply he expects the v5 version of TMDb to be ready to publicly unveil without much more delay (I got the impression that he meant within a week or two), as sounded like he's feeling like he's on the home stretch regarding final decisions, last tweaks, etc. now.
Knix, overall things on the v5 TMDb site are quite familiar seeming (particularly where message boards functionality/use is concerned), but with somewhat different look (site colour scheme; better emojis; certain things on Movie/TV/Celebrity overview/profile pages newly have somewhat or entirely different page position, layout, or degree of visibility), some neat new features are scattered about, etc. I think everyone will like the new way, which, when I started on it, in mid-Nov., I found nearly all the new differences easy to figure out and to get used to.

Click the link in my post above. They used to be available on the dropdown menu (when you click the highlighted 'here').

The " " was to suggest it was someone else talking, such as Sheldon.
But anyway, I don't really use any of TMDb except for these message boards. So I won't even notice most of what seems to be changing.
