The Big Bang Theory 토론

In the finale, Raj decides not to go after Ruchi after all, and stay in Pasadena until his one true love drops out a tree and onto his head like a coconut. I suppose to leave one bachelor on the show for the fans who disliked the rom com approach the show took . This to me was as lame as his relentless procession of love interests. Do you agree and if so how else could his story concluded?

Raj did have the opportunities. He was just always on the search for a better one.

...or his friends disapproved of his choice.

It was for his own good, of course. Raj's love-colored glasses were very strong.

What mostly happened, of course, was that Raj "chose" some infatuation who either didn't love him back - not even delusionally the way Raj did - or was just using him to get his father's money etc.

Was reading a similar topic somewhere online (been a few...so don't remember where).

Anyway, the person did lament the fact that Raj was still uncoupled at the end. But, they went on to say that Raj getting hitched later would be a great “hook” to bring the gang back together somewhere down the road for a reunion type show.

(1) May be a little early to talk reunion since the show barely ended a minute ago.

(2) Reunion shows don’t seem to fare well.

(3) Don’t care much for reunion shows (“Psych” being an exception).

(4) Do we really want TPTB tweaking our memories of “the way they were”?

A reunion show might also mean the inclusion of new main actors from other ethnic groups and sexual preference. Instead of just jokingly alluding to it. Raj would then come out of the closet (not the one that Sheldon had cleaned). There would be a plot where he and his boyfriend wanted to adopt a baby.

A reboot show then with other actors?

It's really hard to get a reunion show right. The actors are out of practice with playing their characters and have become disconnected with them, and it messes with what we pictured in our heads for their futures.

What's in it for TPTB?

If none of these things were what sold the show in the first place, kept it afloat, or helped turn it into a $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$-making-world-wide phenomenon, then what would be showrunners' incentive?

It's just the times we're living in now, including other groups seems to be the trend.

Forget the showrunner. They go to the desert and get chased by the roadrunner. Meep! Meep!

(1) Some folks set trends.

(2) Some folks follow trends.

(3) Some folks ignore the hell out of trends.

If I were a betting person (and I'm not), I'd put money on "3".

Bzzzzt!

It was Wile E. Coyote who did the chasing.

Only if they went without their wives and, of course, Cinnamon.

All three wives, especially pig/cow/whatever-tipping Penny, would be more than able to handle such a situation. As for Cinnamon, don’t doubt for a second that she has some "B" in her.

I have a scene in mind where he is being interviewed for some science show or another. He is in a hot tub but they only show his face. Eventually they talk about his personal life and how he never married. He makes it sound very sad very tragic, then the camera pans back to reveal that he's with several models. "I have to make do with what I have."

And it's a hot tub at his mansion, after he inherited from his parents.

At Raj's mansion where he is letting a television crew shoot "America's Next Top Model: The Next Generation"

Poor poor Raj.
