I never believed Ray's story that he told Peggy. As she was too drunk to remember anything, and she wanted to go back to how it was before - 'friends, no sprinkles' - he just obliged by saying that there was some trouble at the end with the protection. I hink a lot might have happened before that final act.

I suppose that's possible. Although if Penny was too drunk to remember/consent, they could have gone into a multi-episode arc of how he "raped" her.

But especially if it didn't actually get to one of the show's favorite words, "coitus" - and even if it did, they could have told Leonard that it didn't - at some point they should have gotten past Raj's desire to seem like a "stud," and told Leonard that they didn't really "do it." Which I think they probably did tell him, otherwise Leonard wouldn't have stayed with Penny and then married her.

If it had been Penny and Stuart, then maybe Leonard could have overlooked that, especially with Penny being drunk at the time. But not with Raj.

I believe Raj. He was too drunk to perform the act. He exaggerates but he is a good guy and he wouldn't lie to Penny. Also all those Seinfeld people are disgusting, and I love the show.

Well, I dunno if Raj was too drunk. He was "Mr Quick Draw." That's different.

Too drunk to complete the act, perhaps, but there's a lot more to making love than just that final part. Any one like Penny with all her experience, including being drunk a lot and making out with her boy friends, would be doing much more than just that.

It's because Raj is such a good friend, that he doesn't want her to know all that they've done. That way she doesn't have to lie to Leonard and can truthfully say that nothing - according to Raj - happened.

Yes, I've said before they might well have actually "done it" and Penny just doesn't remember because she was too drunk. But either way I think they had to tell Leonard that nothing happened, because he had been assuming that it did, since otherwise I don't think he would have continued to pursue Penny and then married her.

Okay so neither of them were blackout drunk. Unless you two want to write some fan fic about what really happened I will just blissfully imagine that not much did. And if Leonord and Penny didn't get married a lot of the original fans would have been happy

Well Penny said that she was, and that's why she (said that she) didn't remember what happened.

As further (circumstantial, at least) evidence that they didn't really do it, I would point out that Raj is such a self-centered dick, if they HAD done it, he would not have been capable of stopping himself from trying to keep Penny for himself. And remember that Penny and Leonard were not together at that time.

Raj also denied "pulling any of they kama sutra crap" if I have Penny's line right. I am surprised to see this old board spring back to a little life. I must say that I haven't watched a single rerun since the finale .

I've re-watched the finale a couple times, but that's it so far. Going back over TWELVE YEARS of episodes is a bit daunting. But at some point I'll want to get someone interested who's never seen it before, and that's when I'll do it.
