Poptop's thread about one of Jim's next projects reminds me of a "syndrome" I have. I'll call it, "Inability to accept that an actor could play any other character than my beloved character" syndrome. Now that doesn't mean that I don't wish actors continued success in their careers- I do. I just can't watch them do it. It's a complicated syndrome.

For example, when I saw Linda Cardellini in Endgame as Hawkeye's wife I whispered to my son, "Why did Lindsey Weir marry Hawkeye?" Because Linda Cardellini is Lindsey Weir and no one else. And when Chris Pratt was kissing Opie's daughter in the dinosaur movie, I was thinking, "What the hell would Gamora think of this?" You see? It's a problem. And as much as I want the actors on TBBT to be wildly successful for the remainder of their careers- I really do- I think I might start having physical ticks actually watching one of them being someone other than their TBBT character. Like they'd be cheating on that character or something.

Am I the only one with this affliction? If you do not have it, please name an actor and at least two characters of theirs who you loved.

The original commercial for her action figure

Lets all sing along

Actually she wasn't that bad and had all that cool headgear.

Z, you have no idea how much I laughed at (and needed) that video yesterday. Thank you.

As for Queen I'mADollar's headgear, I don't remember her wearing braces, but I could have fallen asleep during the orthodontia portion of the prequels. They were sooooo boring. But cool headgear or not, we must all agree that she had a problem with putting on lipstick. It's like she started on the bottom middle and then got distracted by one of those space things.

Not her but there was a girl at the pod races who was wearing them

Braces - From Wookiepedia

Even more Braces

Is that like... I can't think of the word... when you see a Roman soldier in a movie wearing a watch?

Anachronism! That's it.

On earth, yes. But on her planet, braces should have already been invented. If they were technologically advanced enough to build spacecrafts, they could have made braces.

You know, I would have rather watched that girl's entire orthodontic history (braces placement, maintenance visits and removal) than the "love scene" between Anakin and I'mADollar where he told her she was extra nifty because she wasn't made out of sand.

What if people really talked that way? "Znex, you're my friend because you're not course, rough and irritating like sand. When I first saw you on the message board I thought, here's a guy who is nothing like sand. He shall be my friend."

Of course that's totally why you're my friend.

Yes, but we have invisible braces here. Why don't they?

If you keep asking questions like that then you also have to ask that if Darth Vader can build a Death Star why does he have to wear a scary helmet and cape? Or on Star Trek TNG why when there are starships does Levar Burton have to wear space goggles in order to see?

As for the latest anachronism there is the Starbucks Cup in the Game Of thrones finale

Raj: Come on, Sheldon, Star Wars.

Howard: I'm pushing play. I mean it. If we don't start soon, George Lucas is going to change it again.

Trailer:

"HOLLYWOOD" - Jim Parsons Netflix Series

Even more Jim/Sheldon. Both look so so. Is the world ready for a sexy praying mantis/toddler looking leading man?

The Kid like Jake movie looks like it is based on a kid like Raj.

"Click Bait" trading on Parsons' name best describes the Trailer. Thought you had made a mistake and attached the wrong clip. Had just about given up when Parsons' split-second appearance flashed by. Based on that trailer, I would never watch the movie expecting to see much of Parsons.

The movie seems like a heavy-handed "message" piece; but, with Parsons and Danes, it's not something I'd never-say-never about watching.

As for the Raj comparison...reminded me of what Priya said about how everyone in her family felt about him while he was growing up.

Well, I can't think of two roles, but it's hysterical to see Johnny Galecki play Trouty on My Boys. My Boys - Trouty

Trouty! My Boys? Never heard of that. Leonard looks pretty fat and gangsta.
