The Big Bang Theory týraly talqylaý

Now that TBBT is over, I figured we'd need some OT's to keep the board community going, in amongst our continued discussions of the show.

Is there a TV show that "everyone" loves/loved that you've never watched? If yes, which one(s) and why not?

I've never watched a single episode of Friends, Seinfeld or Game of Thrones. The first two I did not watch on purpose because I usually buck all that seems trendy, and the few snippets of Seinfeld I saw (like as I walked through the room while my husband was watching) just didn't seem funny to me. As for GoT, I don't have HBO. I do hope to watch it someday, though, because I do suspect I'd love it.

Breaking Bad

Friends

Seinfeld

The Sopranos (cheap ripoff of The Godfather, IMHO)

Grey's Anatomy (I did watch 2 episodes, but couldn't stand Pompeo, so never watched again)

Original Star Trek (too hokey)

The Simpson's (too crude)

Family Guy (too crude)

Veep

Dexter

South Park (too crude)

Parks and Recreation

Orange Is the New Black

The Walking Dead

Mad Men

There are more, but these are just off the top of my head.

Breaking Bad is the only show on that list where I've seen all of the episodes. Twice!

I've seen random episodes of The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park. I agree that at times Family Guy and South Park can be a bit too much. ( I honestly don't remember much about The Simpsons. I probably haven't watched it in over 25 years.) I will say though, that there have been some scenes on Family Guy that have made me laugh until I almost cried.

"I've never watched a single episode of Friends, Seinfeld or Game of Thrones" Yet Lemons has watched Breaking Bad twice through? That's kinda curious.
On my own, BBT is the only show I've been attached to recently. But my GF and her ..cripes, now in college son...got me watching Supernatural. Fun show and very Buffy-ish.

Supernatural is nothing like Buffy.

Nothing like?

Other than the 'supernatural' aspect, no. Buffy was geared more toward teenagers, not so much with Supernatural. IMHO.

I watched Supernatural at first, but it rather quickly got to the point where I couldn't believe two brothers with no powers of their own, wouldn't just get easily wiped out at some point when the Forces Of Evil had enough of their meddling.

I understand. I watched from the beginning, then stopped watching around the middle of season 4 & then started up again at the end of 5. It wasn't always perfect (but what show is, besides The Wire), but after a while I was pretty invested in most of the characters, so I have stuck it out. There are moments when I want to stop watching, but it's been 14 years & I have to stick it out until the end. Season 15 will probably be the end.

Hm. Supernatural has a '67 Impala.
The writing has Joss Whedon's influence all over it.

There is 90s era Simpsons and then there are the other 500 episodes or whatever number they are on now. Just like the BB fans who revere the early seasons true Simpson fans have no use for the post 90s seasons. Or really episode 6 and on just like BBT purists.

"Curious"- I like that adjective. I guess that's one way to describe me. stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye I actually don't watch much TV at all, and if I choose to binge-watch something, it's only one series at a time. I usually choose suspenseful shows (like Breaking Bad) over sitcoms when I do watch TV. TBBT is probably the only sitcom I've followed religiously in my adult life.

I guess things that burn brightly for a while fade over time, like early Simpsons, early TBBT, and Raj's pretend relationship with Penny. And candles in the wind.

I bet 90s era Znex was adorable. 90s era Lemons had poof bangs.

Game of Thrones. Never seen a single episode.

What are poof bangs ? I would have expected 90s Lemons to have a "Rachel" (that is a Friends reference for you) Or whatever the Spice Girls wore. Or a full poof on ala Brian May.
