So how did you get started with this show?
1.What initially drew you to it?
2.Do you remember the first episode you ever watched? (Did you start from day one of the series?)
1. I was initially drawn to the show because of how nerdy and funny Howard and Sheldon were.
2.Mr. Lemons used to watch it sporadically and talked about how good it was. I finally gave in and started watching it in reruns on TBS during Season 7 and got caught up. My first episode ever was "The Terminator Decoupling". By the way who the heck is Summer Glau? Does asking that get me kicked off this board?

Simon Helberg is an accomplished pianist and musician. If you search his name and musician or piano you will find many clips of him playing. I am sure he would love to jam with your band if he came to your town. Now I want to hear your group. I suppose the Big Bang theme song wouldn't go too well at either wineries or bars but it is so short that it would be over before anyone noticed but too many words to bother to learn. I don't know if Jim has perfect pitch and now I will have to pay closer attention to those scenes.

I had never paid much attention to the fact that Howie was actually playing the keyboard (though I think subconsciously I assumed he was), but that's really cool. And thanks to Z for the info on him being an accomplished musician! Simon's a really talented guy. They're all quite talented. I'm always especially impressed by musical talent, though, and should have paid better attention. I actually taught piano for about 9 years, but stopped when it became too much with my full-time job.

Whether or not Jim Parsons actually has perfect pitch is irrelevant. Sheldon is written that way. And it's just writing. It would be dumb of them to have someone on the show play a note or something and then have Sheldon written to mis-identify it. But again, that's just writing. Young Sheldon did the same thing in an episode of Young Sheldon, and that was just writing too.

There was a scene where he hums a note in the middle of a sentence and it was the correct note. HOWEVER, while looking for that clip I found a post from someone that mentions he hums a wrong note in the hot Tub Contamination. Which is surprising as they could just keep redoing a scene until he got it right.

Yes, but maybe the production people/director didn't realize it was wrong. They probably don't have perfect pitch either.

Sheldon is so full of himself that he thinks he is right about everything. In the clip above he dings a glass of milk and says it is a specific note. Who there is going to be able to say that he is wrong? He wasn't on key when he finished The Star Spangled Banner after Amys experiment.

p.s. Dollhouse starred Eliza Dushku, who played Faith on Buffy (and Angel for a while)
