So how did you get started with this show?
1.What initially drew you to it?
2.Do you remember the first episode you ever watched? (Did you start from day one of the series?)
1. I was initially drawn to the show because of how nerdy and funny Howard and Sheldon were.
2.Mr. Lemons used to watch it sporadically and talked about how good it was. I finally gave in and started watching it in reruns on TBS during Season 7 and got caught up. My first episode ever was "The Terminator Decoupling". By the way who the heck is Summer Glau? Does asking that get me kicked off this board?

As I've mentioned recently on another thread, plus in the past too, I started watching from the very beginning, because I thought Kaley was really good in the last season of Charmed. I wouldn't have started watching it otherwise, and probably wouldn't have found it interesting later on either.
It's a shame you started on TBS, because they cut the episodes to run more commercials. It's entirely possible you've never seen many of the earlier episodes in their original form. Even the very first episode, for example, TBS cuts a lot of the sperm bank scenes.
If you haven't seen it fully yet, you can download and watch the full first episode here:

And if you're interested, the original unaired pilot (without Kaley/Penny) and the early unaired version of the first episode that was shown, here:

As for the rest, You need to see the series Firefly, and the movie Serenity. All will become clear.
Although that episode got its name from the awful Terminator TV series.

Thank you kindly for these links Knixon, although I now feel kind of like I've been assigned a book report. I am going to deduce that Summer Glau was on Firefly and did science-fictiony things.

Yes, she was a co-star (but in some ways kind of the center of attention) of the series Firefly, and its follow-up movie Serenity. Both worth seeing.
But her big starring role was the awful TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" where she played a hot young female girl terminator who, despite being so small, was somehow far stronger than any of the Schwarzenegger types who came after them. She was also in the series Dollhouse for a while (the main star was Eliza Dushku), that show was really interesting although they totally blew it at the end.

It all started with....the promo's I saw when it first came out while watching football. And had no interest. Looked annoying.
Years later someone I know....fine, my sister!...suggested I might like the show. It was in syndication at that point and on three times a night. Gave it a shot and BANG! it clicked with me. I now have all episodes on a video loop that runs on monitors in my "band cave." For the last six years when I'm not using the monitors for music stuff, I've had annoying Sheldon annoying me!! And have now probably watched every episode a dozen times. I was late to the IMDB board scene...but found the discussions there fascinating. And glad a few voices from back then are still around.

Sounds like you were introduced to it basically the same way I was, and similarly hooked.
Your mention of a band cave intrigues me. Do you play in a band?

Summer Glau is a type of Glau that one can only get in the summer. It is somewhere between a Gluehwein and a Liebfraumilch. (Ha ha Lemons I just got you to look up things on the internet)
By the way not much gets you kicked off this board.

Question: If Ms. Glau ever bonked her head really hard, would it put her into a glau-coma?

Ooof. Glau-coma!
Been playing in a band with a group of guys for over 30 years. Mainly classic rock. Put together a practice area a few years back and have a few monitors hanging from the ceiling to watch lyrics/videos when working on new material. When I'm putzing around I run BB's. I bet I have gone through all seasons a dozen times. Just having them on while I'm doing other stuff.

That's really cool poptop! I love classic rock. Actually these days I enjoy rock, pop, R&B and country. Someone will have to start a music-themed thread soon so we can talk music. 🎶

First they have to find the stone tablet music for it.
Papyrus music? Whichever. But I think stone tablet is funnier.

Ha! We do not, but we do have a Bare Naked Ladies song in our catalog. If I had a Million Dollars goes over well at wineries. Not so much in bars. As a musician, there is one thing that has fascinated me about this show. Howard is really playing the keyboards in his music scenes, and Raj played the guitar part for Thor and Dr. J...and Sheldon...well.... Jim, appears to have perfect pitch. I have stopped and rewound a few scenes here in the band cave when Sheldon would hum a note and say what it was. I'd walk over to the keyboard ....And he nailed it. I know it's Hollywood and they could doctored it, but it appears to me that there was serious attention to music detail. Howard's piano song for Bernadette at the CCF may have been dubbed...but he was playing the part note for note from what I could see.
I'm sure all this has been discussed before...but fun to reflect.
