It's hard to believe we're down to the final three episodes! No matter what I think of the current quality of the show compared to the past, I want to be a part of the discussions of its last three episodes. Plus I missed you guys.
I enjoyed The Plagiarism Schism last Thursday and had just a few questions:
1.Is there any need for Amy and Sheldon to team up with Campbell now that he exposed Pemberton? (Won't Pemberton and Campbell just implode now without them having to team up with him?) Will that improve their chances of winning?
2.If they do win, is there enough time left for us to see it (and it not seem rushed)?
3.Does it get on your nerves that Amy keeps calling it the "no-BELL"? It's pronounced "NO-bel" and has the word "prize" after it. These things are important. She acts like she's on a(n incorrectly-pronounced) first name basis with it or something.

1) I wouldn't be surprised if, one part of their "team" having been discredited, their whole situation becomes dismissed by the Nobel people. He taints the experiment that proves super-asymmetry, which could be interpreted as discrediting the whole thing. At least until/unless someone else comes along and proves it again.
2) No. But in "real world" situations I don't think actual Nobel winners would have much real news about it that quickly anyway. It might be enough to just say that their "Nobel application (or whatever) was accepted" by the series finale. They could then have a flash-forward at the very end, I suppose, to them actually receiving the award, perhaps several years later after multiple independent verification... and by then Sheldon's dream is crushed, because he must eat his Nobel dinner using his dentures.
3) Well at least I don't think that can be blamed solely on the writers. Same as my peeve from a while back, where Amy tells Sheldon to wash a tray of "beakers" that were actually FLASKS! Even if the writers had that completely wrong to start with, actual-Ph.D-scientist Mayim should have corrected it. And I don't thing the writers are including direction on how to SAY Nobel. So if actual-Ph.D-scientist Mayim is getting that wrong too, well....

I hope naughty Pemberton's plagiarism doesn't knock Sheldon and Amy out of contention! After all, they did spend a whole 5-minute scene coming up with the theory in the moments before their nuptials.
In response to your response for #2 (which I thought was a good response), it crossed my mind that we might be either left up in the air at the end, never really knowing if they won, or have a flash-forward scene. There's just no way for them to find out they won and go and accept an award in three more episodes. And I'm just wondering, in the interest of the integrity of the show, would it be better for them to win, not win, or us just never know?

Well the "uh oh, the cable went out!" style ending of Sopranos would not do. Especially if they pull that while Penny is checking yet another pregnancy test, or Sheldon and Amy's phone rings with a call from Oslo...
One way or the other, things like that should be answered conclusively. It doesn't require a jump 20 or 30 years into the future to see that everything turned out okay, or not. But at the end of Cheers, for example, there was no question about Sam and Diane getting married. They didn't leave it at "will he ask her?" or "will she say yes?"

The only way to reply is to say that I was really disappointed with the episode. The real Kripke would have gotten back at Campbell and Pemberton with glee and get a last dig at Sheldon as well. Campbell and Pemberton were the only thing going for the show and they just self-destructed. The Noble prize storyline is stupid and horrible. Worse that the Zach/Leonard story line and the Raj/Anu will they won't they pairing. Sheldon is going to win the Noble on his first time out ? Are you kidding me. What about the Russian who disproved it ? Did he discover it as well ? The Noble is not the Oscars of the Grammys or a fashion show about who has the best science. It gets on my nerves that Amy is going to play second Theremin to Sheldon for the rest of her life. My prediction is that the next episode shows Bev and Leonard getting all snuggly, followed by the second to last episode where Cinnamon gets the Noble for Super-Zazzles Theory. In the last episode future Sheldon travels back to past Sheldon to inform him that Babylon 5 is no where near as bad as the last episode of Start Trek Voyager.

I agree that Kripke's behavior was out-of-character.
I will have to disagree with you on the Nobel storyline being worse than the Zach/Leonard story. At least the Nobel storyline, though poorly tacked on at the end, is in keeping with a series-long dream of Sheldon's. The Zach/Leonard/Leonard's smart sperm story felt like something the writers pulled out of their butts during a day when their brains were possessed by SpongeBob's orb of confusion. I mean WTF??? If I had been posting on this board during that part of the story, you would have seen much consternation.
I am glad that you mentioned the Theremin. If you glance at that word very quickly it looks like Charmin. But you can't wipe your butt with one.
My final thought for this post is that I hope the final episode isn't all Babylon 5ish and Star Trekkish. You know I know about as much about those things as I do other things I don't know anything about.

I'm looking forward to getting my half hour back in my life (said very fondly, of course!) it's been a fun ride, but I'm glad it's over in a way. I can hardly believe I've been watching this show for 12 years.
And maybe sadder....I've nothing to replace this with...not that I've looked
cheers Lemon!

Rudd! It's so good to see you here! I was hoping you might join us again.
I know- can you believe it's been on for so long and here we are at the last 3 episodes??? I'm really looking forward to discussing them. This show has been special to me both for the show itself and the conversations on the board. Looking forward to talking to you more- whether it's about the show or pink-inside hamburgers.
(I always remember a fun conversation!

I don't know how I got to Norway instead of Sweden. Maybe because several of my ancestors are from Norway and they always had a bitter rivalry?
I agree that Kripke would likely want to bring Pemberton down himself, and we might think he wouldn't have - COULDN'T have - waited so long to do it. But maybe he was thinking like Howard in The Veracity Elasticity:
Exposing Pemberton right after falsely getting his Ph.D wouldn't be nearly as devastating as waiting until he thinks he's going to get the Nobel Prize.
Plus of course there's always:
