…The IRS Taketh Away.
Well, it’s that time of year again. “Tax Day”--proof-positive that freedom is not free.
"When it comes to taxes, there are two types of people. There are those that get it done early, also known as psychopaths, and then the rest of us." (Jimmy Kimmel)

A lot of people are finding out that they should have adjusted their withholdings etc from last years' tax cuts, and falsely believing their taxes went UP.

I don't earn enough to have to pay. But I have been paying back taxes from 2008, 2009, & 2011. I pay more in interest & penalties than I ever owed to begin with! I hate the IRS!

There are lawyers and stuff who will help with things like that. Although if you've already made a settlement/agreement, it may be too late.

I made the agreement years ago, I only owed a couple thousand but like I said I'm paying more in penalties & interest. If I wasn't on Social Security & would stop paying them. But if I don't they will take it out anyway.

Those lawyers etc always suggest that they can get rid of at least some/most of the interest and penalties, but that may only work for people who are able to pay off the settlement amount, quickly.
The only time I ever owed any taxes, was an identity theft situation. It took a while to fix, but I didn't have to actually pay anything.

Who knew?
"Meghan Markle and her baby will be liable for U.S. taxes
• Because of Meghan Markle's American citizenship, her baby will be liable for U.S. income tax.
• Children of American citizens are considered U.S. taxpayers no matter where in world they are born.
• Prince Harry and Meghan's child could avoid U.S. taxes when he or she turns 18 by renouncing their American citizenship."
What? The
is going to work--have an income?
Geez! Who even think about such things!?

But if they're living and earning outside the US, at least for most of the year, I don't think they have a tax liability. That's why US citizen Hollywood stars buy islands and officially live in Ireland and stuff.
