A few years ago on the now-gone boards at imdb, I recall a thread in which people imagined how the series could end. Now that we're in what's supposed to be the final season, it might be fun to see what thoughts come to mind:
I'm imagining their Nobel nomination tipping the vetting process in their favor and Shamy getting selected for the one-way trip to Mars for which they applied earlier in the series.

In the past, I’ve always thought that The End of the gang would involve Howard (or Bernie) being lure away by some once-in-a-lifetime opportunity he/she can’t refuse. While I think such a thing still could happen, now I see it happening to Sheldon and Amy instead.
With Shamy's super asymmetry breakthrough, along with their possible Nobel consideration, they are “hot properties”. I can easily see someone with a not-to-be-denied offer come knocking, knocking, knocking (couldn’t resist
) at their door.

At this point I don't care what happens. They could try to explain just what in the heck Super-Asymmetry is. Just no lead in to Young Sheldon. Does the gang all go off in different directions ? That would be too hokey for me. How about the show ends at the premiere of Serial-Apist 3 : Super Monkey Symmetry.

No need for everyone/couple to go off in a different direction. The gang members’ lives are so tightly intertwined (professional and socially) that all that's needed is for one to move on. Such a happening would surely lead to end-of-an-era sentiments among the gang (and fans); and to the realization that it is only the beginning of changes to come as they branch out re: families, careers, responsibilities, etc.
Hokey would be to leave them frozen in time 'Simpsons'-like.
As for having the show end at the premiere of the third worst movie ever made, can't think of anyone from the gang that would actually show up; and I'm including Penny in that "anyone".

The box office failure of "Serial Apeist 2: Monkey See Monkey Kill" would almost kill the franchise but a massive online fan outburst would bring back Penny as the mad monkey doctor. A video game version "Mad Monkey Party" would be designed as well. Penny would also sing the theme song: "Monkey Dance Monkey Love". Wheaton would direct.

“Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again” Box Office:
--Domestic: $120,634,935
--Foreign: $274,110,946
Can Mamma Mia – Something/Something 3 be far behind?
Saying that to say, who am I to judge
—anything is possible.

Abba is planning to release new songs, the first in 35 years, this year or next. Also a reunion, tour and Abba holograms/avatars or Abbatars. Seriously you can look this up. Mamma Mia indeed !
