I thought this was a dumb storyline. I wonder if Penny would get second thoughts about having her own kid with Leonard before Leonard helps Zack and his wife have one. Cimmerian ? Zack better not carry the kid around with his tendency to bump into things.

As odious as the thought of Leonard being Zack and Marissa's sperm donor may be—it is the lesser of two evil since it doesn’t come close to the cringe worthiness of the idea of the two of them passing along their combined DA genes to a kid.

Leonard, of course, is flattered; but, does he really want two people ($$$$$$$$$$$$$, or not) with the combine IQ of wet-toilet-paper raising his kid?

Of all the ways out, It seems more likely to me that Penny would object to basically someone else having Leonard's baby when she doesn't want to. Whether that would manifest as her changing her mind as to having their own kids - which would make it easy for Leonard to say no to just being a donor - or simply insisting he not do it, could end up being a coin-toss. As a legal matter, those things can get complicated. It may be that if Mr and Mrs Zack fall upon hard times, Leonard could be court-ordered to pay child support. Which would end up basically coming partly out of Penny's pocket as well.

Also, isn't that how Sheldon grew up? I can see the new spin-off already: "Young Leonard Jr."
