Been wondering a few things about this whole President Siebert-not-wanting-Sheldon-to-represent predicament...
(1) What would have happened if Amy had refused President Siebert request to make the “talk circuit” without Sheldon?
(2) Does Amy work for the university now?
(3) For those in the know, do professors have it in their contracts that they must “stump for” a university when called upon to do so? (Of course, can’t see anyone not wanting to bask in the accolades from their accomplishments; but, there are bound to be a few ‘Bob Dylan-like’ achievers out there.)
(4) Is it just me, or did Amy seem a tad too eager and happy to bask in the spotlight while Sheldon got kicked to the curb?

1) Then Amy would lose her chance to outshine Shelly bean for once.
2) I suppose ?
3) Not in the know here. But I think they would stump for their egos if not for the institutions. And to rub their success in the faces of their lessers. There were a couple of times that Sheldon didn't want to join Leonard in an event or join in an event anyways. In the case with Leonard they got into a scrap and by himself Penny helped him out with some wine.
4) Yes Amy having spent her young life in the shadows is super pleased to bask in the sunshine of peer accolades.

Sheldon would be a disaster on any kind of speaking thing. We all know that, and so does Siebert. Even WITH a co-speaker. Because Sheldon would find some way to push them aside.
