"If Shakespeare and Michelangelo were alive today, and if they decided to collaborate on a comic, Shakespeare would write the script and Michelangelo would draw it. How could anybody say that this wouldn't be as worthwhile an artform as anything on earth?" - Stan Lee
Maybe because Shakespeare also created "pictures" through his words, and Michelangelo also "wrote stories" with his painting etc. Both of which could stand on their own. They didn't require the other. If each of them did ONLY "their part" it seems like the total wouldn't be any greater than the parts.
So let us all remember Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko who were as important to Marvel as Stan Lee was. Then of course the dozens and later hundreds of folks who cam later to make once cheap comics one of the biggest media empires today.
Speaking of people who have made memorable contributions to the entertainment industry--when it comes to saying goodbye, it has been one-of-those-weeks. In addition to Stan Lee...
