Howard surprised me when it came to Bernie spending 'me time' in the kids' playhouse. I’ve always pictured Howard as the kind of someone who’d want his partner-in-crime right next him—suffering too (or more 'Old' Howard-like, suffering instead.) Guess having kids make folks a lot less selfish.
Think Howard has “out-matured” the other two. Think if Leonard found out Penny was getting away for some "me time” he would start worrying and whining and wondering if she still loved him. Think if Sheldon found out Amy was getting away for some “me time” he would be all in a lather because he’d see it as time she could have spent on his project.
Was anyone else surprised that Howard knew about Bernie’s “me time” in the playhouse—and/or that he was so understanding about her need for it?

It was nice and considerate of Howard to let Bernie off by herself. I was surprised by his reaction. Plus Howard then was able to get some of his own me time with Raj. You are right about Leonard whose insecurity is just part of who he is. Sheldon would react just like you said. Amy's stalker-ish jump on Penny freaked me out a bit. Finally Howard who was the least mature of the group turns out to be the most mature now.

Isn't Raj still the least mature, really?

No, that would be Sheldon.

Good point. So Raj is second least mature. But I don't really think Howard was ever in that position.

He might be? But the thing with Raj is, he was raised in a whole different culture then the rest, so that changes things just a bit?

At least the way it's presented on the show, I don't think Raj is the way he is because of where he grew up. Remember according to his father he has, what, 5 or 6 brothers and sisters who are normal.

Agree.
But, was really referring to just the married guys in the gang. A single being immature seems less impactful. A married I’d want to hold to a higher standard. A single (if they choose) can be self-absorbed. A married gives up their self-absorbed right when they say “I Do”.
I can see Raj maturing further (especially under Anu's watch) as time goes by. Sheldon never!

Indeed. To Sheldon, a wife is probably just someone there to help him be more selfish.
