...Did Penny really ask why women costumes had to be sexy?

Did the person who has made “sexy” her stock-and-trade since way back when really utter those words? She is concerned about women being objectified? What’s next, Leonard saying that it was really Penny’s brains that drew him to her in the first place?

Pity...never a "BLT"triumpharound when you need one!?

Penny is tired and over her younger self. She used to be fun and lively and now she is tied down to boring old Leonard, who by the way was wearing a not at all sexy Inspector Gadget costume. Leonard didn't even say Go Go Gadget.

He probably did after they locked Stuart out. sunglasses

Or maybe Penny went to her room and got her gadget out wink

So what were the costumes that everyone wore? I saw the commercial that had Howard as Sheldon, Sheldon as ??, then I caught part of the end with Howard & Bernie (Mary Poppins?), then Leonard (blue pants & tie) & Penny as a Wench?

Howard was Sheldon until Sheldon had a hissy fit. Sheldon and Amy were Doc whatever-his-name-is from Back to the Future and Amy his Doc wife. Leonard was Inspector Gadget. Penny just put on something. I don't think she was supposed to be anyone of even dress up. Stuart put on butterfly wings from the Wolowitz kids dress up box. Howard and Bernie did change to Mary Poppins / Dick Van Dyck costumes. Sheldon and Amy had a mutual hissy fit of their own and dressed up as Howard and Bernie.

I'm 100% in agreement. This is the same Penny who showed skin to try to get Leonard tenure, now she's indignant about women being objectified?

It's not Penny, it's TPTB trying to show that they are on board with the not objectifying women train.

Yeah.

Poor choice on the writers’ part; they should have given that line to Bernie. That is, to someone just as sexy; but, with it being incidental to who she is—and not to someone who has deliberately wheeled sexy like a scythe.

Wielded.

Fixy fix.
