Howard as Sheldon -
Can't even think about that without .
Still...
Best Single Costume: Leonard as Inspector Gadget.
Best Couple Costume: Raj and Anu - as Justice Gingsburg and the Declaration of Independence.
Worst Costume: Stuart - As whatever that was.

For me the episode peaked at Howard's Sheldon costume and went down hill from there. They really missed an opportunity by not having Denise there. Maybe Stuart is tired of the whole costume idea like Penny is. Or was Denise holding down the store while Stuart was at the party which he seemed to not want to be at all. Penny and Stuart should have gone off to a corner by themselves. They would have had a better time.
1) So Leonard is still a ten year old boy at heart. Go Go Leonard. Or maybe that is why Penny doesn't want to wear a sexy costume.
2) Anu's costume was puzzling to me. I get the point with Raj's costume but found it dull.
3) Amy is just as bad as Sheldon, defending his tantrum.
4) I'd rather go to a Bert rock party any day.
5) Who kissed who first? Just another reason for Lenny and Penny to bicker.
6) I would have liked to see Bernie dressed as Amy.
7) Sheldon would find "Mary Poppins" much more terrifying than "Halloween"
8) Being with Amy and Sheldon would be terrifying to me.
Overall I found the episode a disappointment

This isn't the first time the couples have locked-horns over some Sheldon/Howard goings-on ("The Parking Spot Escalation"). I think this pretty much evens the score. The last time the Wolowitzes were clear winners. This time I think the Fowler-Coopers (formerly The Shamy) edged them out by a hair.

Yes you are right and I hope it is the last time we go through this. I have to say that when Howard dressed up as Sheldon it was funny. When Sheldon dressed as Howard it was mean. Maybe it was Sheldon's lack of understanding comedy or his lack of empathy for one of his only friends and one of Amy's only friends too. They should be over this pettiness by now. Even with clueless Sheldon and prankster Howard. I would have liked it better if the couples dressed as each other and faced each other that way at the end.

Just got caught up on “Modern Family”. In the S10E5—(Halloween episode, 10/24/18) one of the female characters’ costume was Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Must say Raj trumped her. He was—hands down—a better, more impressive looking Justice Ginsburg.

Actually, really enjoyed the episode. Still can't help but
when I think of certain scenes.
Favorite exchange of the episode…
Raj, Leonard, and Sheldon are sitting at their table in the school coffee shop. Howard walks in dressed as Sheldon. A guy behind them says “Hey Sheldon”. Then, Howard and Sheldon say “Hello”—in sync.

I agree. That was not only the best part of the episode but the season so far.

So where is the 'tantrum' scene? Could someone post it here?

Sheldon doesn't have an actual tantrum, I was just writing fancy there. All he does is get extra snooty when he is told that Howard is making fun of him. You could go to the official CBS site for the whole episode.

Wonder sometimes if they actually hire actors for such “uninvolved” scenes. After all, the guy only had two words—auditions/agents/contracts seem like a lot of to-do for such a minuscule part. Or do they have a stable of “studio actors”, on the order of “session musicians” that they can call on as needed? Or do they just pull one of their own from the production team and put them in front of the camera? Or...?

Why did Penny say that she threw Halloween parties "all the time" but Leonard was only invited to one? The very first Halloween after she moved in,. in "The Middle Earth Paradigm," was where she and Leonard kissed. And after that, they were dating and stuff.
