Discuss Teoria Big Bang

Here are my initial thoughts, and I'd also love to hear yours!

1.Not much Sheldon and Amy in this episode which gave other characters more screen time. That was refreshing! thumbsup

2.Enjoyed the Bernie and Howard scenes again. In the scene where Bernie starts crying on the couch after Stuart's romantic music starts playing, it actually looked to me like the actress (Melissa Rauch) was trying not to laugh. Did anyone else think that?

3.It is time for Stuart to move out.

4.Are the writers trying to break Penny and Leonard up?

5.I thought the Batmobile scene at the end seemed forced and odd, but maybe some fans related to it.

6.I agree with Penny that she should not have kids if she doesn't want them...but why wasn't this topic discussed prior to marriage?

7.Breastfeeding each other's babies? Amy, that is gross. To me, this harkened back to her crushing days on Penny earlier in the show.

8.Raj and Anu… I've made it clear that I'm supportive of the arranged marriage, but engaged after only 2 dates? (Actually, during the 2nd date.) I think the audience would have bought into this arrangement better if they had gone on the full 6 dates over the course of 6 (or more) episodes, giving the relationship some foundation when the engagement occurred. Instead if felt desperate and rushed. I'm still going to keep an open mind, but it felt like the writers were either inadvertently writing the story poorly, or deliberately sabotaging it. And if they're sabotaging it, ugh. I'm beyond tired of them making Raj's love chances crash and burn.

With all this said, this is the first time in a long time that I'm actually looking forward to the next episode(s) and want to see where these storylines go, so kudos to the writers for that! I do feel like they're stepping it up some. trophy

Short--but, good to see Penny's dad, Wyatt.

Have been a Carradine fan for a time; but, became a fervent one after his amazing turn on "Dexter".

Ah yes! I enjoyed that bit, too. I agree that it was awfully short to bring someone in for a cameo. Maybe they'll let us see a continuation of that call next week. (Regardless, I predict they'll let us see Penny and Leonard having a fight for Lenny tipping off Wyatt! hushed )

Even though storylines on this show are known to be cliff-droppers; I can't see the Leonard-Penny baby issue being a one-and-done debate. And, when it does continue, I can see her warning him to keep her dad, etc. out of it.

Leonard said he is OK with her decision; but, to me he didn’t seem all that sincere. Truth is, I can see him raising-and-army (her parents/his parents/everyone else they know) to work on her to get her to change her mind.

Agreed. I don't think Leonard is OK with it at all. I'm really surprised this wasn't a pre-marriage conversation. They certainly had many years to discuss it! But they are human, and I shan't be haughty. We mess up sometimes.

What's funny is I had actually forgotten that he still lived there. I'm not sure where I thought he lived... I think in my mind I must have figured it was time for him to have his own place, and for Bernie, Howard and their kids to have some privacy. smiley

Howard and Bernie ruled this episode. the scene where they were on the verge of crying while Sade was playing was hilarious.

I'm not feeling Penny and Leonard right now. It's just weird.

And Raj is just tiresome. Dont know where that one's going.

How can we not dig the bat mobile? It was forced but a nice touch by Penny.

overall the first 2 episodes were a lot funnier

Poor Raj. Gets an arranged marriage set up by his dad, and I couldn't imagine any self-respecting man with a woman like her. The woman's entire outlook was as if life were a crappy job and she was middle management.

Unless she was really drawn in by Raj trying to back out on the second date, I just can't figure what a woman like that would see in a guy like Raj except for two possibilities: The kinder of the two being that he was the first man she could cajole into agreeing to marry her and her ticking biological clock, or worse that she knew that if Raj is married to an Indian woman, then he's back in Rich Daddy's will and she wanted a piece of that.

Whatever the case, she's almost certain not to see him as a partner, but rather as a project to turn into what she wants.

At any rate he would have been better off with the lesbian who thought he was gay and wanted to marry him for the sake of both their closets.

The more I think about it, the writers are doing a very smart thing focusing more on Bernie and Howard. There is some huge untapped comedic potential there. They may actually be the two funniest people on the show, but they don't get much chance to prove it.

And you're right, that was very nice of Penny to rent the Batmobile for Leonard. (I didn't realize you could rent the Batmobile. blush ) Rudd, if you dug that scene, then that's good enough reason for me to have had it in there. wink

Bob, I think that part of your post that I kept might be the key. I could be proven wrong, but I sensed a softening in her when he started to walk away. Something about her facial expression. Maybe she realized that she was treating it too much like a business arrangement and too little like a (future) relationship.

Maybe.

I guess we'll see. slight_smile

On another note: Who rents an Adam West style batmobile without buying the insurance? If ever was a car that begged to be driven fast and crazy... "Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed."

Good to see not a lot of Shamy this time

More Bernie and Howard next time

Denise makes Stuart fun

Expected the Batmobile to be a dream. Seems like they threw something nerdy in just so they would not forget what nerdy was

Rajs wife to be was stressing me out then she lightened up. Had a squeaky voice like Mindy Kaling who stresses me out too. Wait, might she be the Indian version of Bernie ?

I wonder what hot beverage Sheldon would offer you for "stressed by squeaky voice"?

Well, I choose not to judge her so harshly...

In a way it was kind of a business arrangement; so she was treating it as such.

Let’s face it; they checked all of each others’ boxes compatibility-wise. So, until he showed her otherwise, she was all about putting forward the foot that was most in-step with Questionnaire-Raj.

But, when she realized that he was looking for something deeper; that is, something more than just a suitable "vessel", --then she, same as he wasn’t afraid to show her vulnerable side.

So, based on what I've seen so far, I'm not attributing any ulterior motives to her. When it comes to putting-yourself-out-there, not everyone can just dive in head first and worry about the depth of the water later. We can’t all be like Raj.

Also, how likely is it that the person you described would get down on one knee in a public place to...?

That being said—hope this doesn’t work out.

Raj is the last holdout. There should be at least one member left on the team with whom the rest of us can identify. Once upon a time we could identify with all of them. Now even Sheldon is happily married.

Please writers leave us something—leave us Raj! pray_tone1 .
