Discuss Тэорыя вялікага выбуху

Hey guys, I thought I'd start an early discussion thread, are you excited for the final season? At first I was upset about the news but I realized deep down I was ready for this show to end. It's been on for a decade; these characters have experienced everything imaginable and it's time for an epic and hopefully well-executed conclusion.

Also, I've come to peace with the the fact that these are the last 24 episodes and our community may be nearing the end of its run here. Im hoping by the time the season ends we will have figured out a new spot to speak to each other or even create a forum for the members here and our former imbd family to congregate and talk off topics all the time.

Maybe me and Znexy and Lemons can put our heads together and think of something.

Having just caught up with the final episodes of season 11, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I still enjoy the show. But...I could also sense that this is the right way to go out. Looking forward to these final 24.

You made me tear up, young lady. 💛 Looking forward to discussing the show.

How sweet of you candy I just watched the new episode even though I was almost not going to but then what would I talk about with all of you here. The reason I was planning not to watch it was because I learned that Amy’s parents were going to be on and I did not care for them the last time. But they redeemed themselves as Kathy Bates was less harsh and Teller talked, I thought he wasn’t going to talk because keeps silent in his magic act. So all was well with the Fowlers. Unfortunately with the rest of the gang arguing with each other the episode was pretty flat. Finally the last time Neil DeGrasse Tyson spoke about Pluto he was for the little planet and now he switched sides. What was that all about? I hope they don’t try to hook up Raj with the weather woman. I even stayed tuned for Young Sheldon which the same as any other Young Sheldon episode.

So let's see... Here are some initial thoughts:

1.I liked that Amy's parents were on the show. I don't really have any opinion of Teller because I've never seen his magical act, but I have always been a fan of Kathy Bates. She has seemed a bit rigid so far, but if the writers will let her "be herself" more, I think she could add some great comedy to the show.

2.Comparing Leonard and Penny to Amy's parents made sense, but where exactly are they going with that?

3.The scenes with Bernie and Howie were A-OK.

4.The Raj story. Oh writers. C'mon now. Haven't you received enough feedback that you need to stop making Raj look like a buffoon? Raj looked like an idiot and Neil Degrasse Tyson looked like a bully jerk. Granted, I was under the influence of some amount of cough medicine while watching the episode, but that's how I processed it.

5.Sheldon and Amy- The back and forth hot dogs were way too obvious. Sheldon should stick to being chased by dogs in hot dog scenes. And sorry Amy, but sex still ain't gonna be spontaneous, even with Sheldon's random-appearing algorithm.

That really stood out for me too. Obviously, whenever Sheldon does (try to?) "initiate" sex - or just about anything else, really - it will be from a schedule he previously made up. Whether or not he tells her about it. If she somehow pretends that makes it "spontaneous" could say more about her than about him.

Agree with everything you said. This episode didn't break any new ground, just felt like a continuation of last season with a nice treat at the end with Neil Degrasse Tyson and Bill Nye.

Raj being the saddest character on the show is played out. I wish they would persue other plots but we all know they won't.

It might be kind of nice this season to have a scene with Sheldon briefly explaining "anything can happen" days. Can ANYTHING really happen, or anything within his constraints? I am slightly curious.

And whatever does happen, was still PLANNED for THURSDAY.

Regarding the last season as a whole, not just the premiere, I hope they don't waste time on some "story arc" for Amy's parents. They've already been on twice as much as Yvette the Vet got. (Four times as much if you figure both of them.)

And if they're back again tonight, that will be three (six) times as much.

I have had enough of Amy's parents for the rest of the season. Bring them back in the end if you must but leave them back where they came from until then or if not give them something that makes sense and is less overly dramatic to justify another appearance. Plus the bossy woman cliche is a bit tired by now in the show.

And Penny already shut her down once at the wedding. Do we need to see more of that?

Generally, don't read the "Vanity Card" at the end of an episode--but, the first few words of this one from S12E1 caught my eye.

Must admit that my first thought was: OMG! Don't tell me Chucky has gone all marshmallowy-soft on fans now that show is coming to an end. Did he fall and hit his head or what!? At that point, I had a leopard/spots/change thought flicker through my brain that made me quite nauseated_face .

But, thank goodness I read through to the end because the Chucky-voice I expected to hear IS there in the last few lines.

It’s kind of wonderful to be reminded every now and then that those of us who spar on these Boards—those of us who can't bear to have anyone contradict our opinion about anything to do with the show—don’t have a “lock” on petty and vindictive. smiling_imp

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #591

"And so we begin the final leg of our journey. And oh what a journey it’s been. Over the last eleven years, babies were born, friends and loved ones passed away, marriages began with hope and love, while others ended with lawyers and shared custody. And through it all, through the ups and the downs, the laughter and the tears, we made a TV show that we loved, a TV show we were proud of. To those of you who have been with us from the beginning, and those who joined along the way, we want to take this opportunity to thank you all for going on this journey with us. And as for those of you who wished us ill, the haters, please know that while our feelings may occasionally have been hurt, we have always tried to understand and support your right to an opinion -- even if it’s a meanspirited one. Of course it follows logically that we too should be allowed to voice our thoughts. So... “Go %#@% yourself.”"
