I didn't really watch last season.

She was a bit pudgy even when she first fully joined the show, in season 4. But of course she was a 30-something mother of 2 (or 3?) playing a supposed asexual virgin, which didn't help.

Agree with both of these responses so far, and would like to hear a few more before I dive in too far with my thoughts. Erica? Z? Arctic Fox? FormerlyKnownAs? Censorship? Rudd? Lurkers (I know you're there- I can see you with my x-ray vision)? Bueller? Bueller?

1.Did this promo whet your appetite for the new season?
2.Were most of these clips new?
3.Your thoughts on the scene with Howard and Bernie at the kitchen table?

1. Do you think they purposely left out interesting parts so that they would not spoil them, or do you think that's really all there was to show?

I try to stay as far away as possible from promos--for TV shows and movies. (Not always possible, of course; but have not been blindsided by any for S12--so far.)

Anyway…

Too often watching them turns out to be a lose-lose situation". Either, what you think you see in those quick-cuts scenes in promos isn’t what you actually get when you watch the episode; or, even worse, they are so busy trying to build the suspense/excitement--they ruin the “gotcha”.

You bring up a good point- sometimes promos can give away too much information and ruin exciting moments. In fact, Rabbit and I both used to make a point on the old board NOT to look at any spoilers because we didn't want anything ruined. But that was more like taping reports. I kind of viewed this promo as harmless. To anyone who has not watched this promo yet, I think I can assuredly say that no big moments will be ruined. If anything, I felt like it was just a bunch of clips thrown together, several from previous seasons, that really didn't tell us anything. But maybe that was the point- not to ruin anything for us. Just can't say that it convinced me of the "epic" nature of the final season that has been promised.

OK, I'm sorry. I thought the promo would be something that everybody would want to see. It's so hard to come up with something new to post on this board these days, and I felt like it was relevant to the upcoming season. Anyway, I hope the last season will be great!

I meant the new episode not the promo. Sorry for the confusion there. I watched the promo, it was alright but all it said to me was that the new episode is coming up. which is good as I don't want any spoilers. Honestly I don't expect mush from the last season. Wait did I type in mush instead of much? I do expect mush in the last season, much mush.

I think this promo was meant to be a pep rally instead of a teaser. I just wasn't really looking at it through the right lens.

thought it was pretty harmless promo with old mixed in with new, no real spoilers.

but that sent me off to a few other clips for fun with a promise for "best season ever" and I dont know about that. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I think it's the "best season ever". I haven't felt that way since the early seasons which I dont think have been topped albeit, there have been some outstanding episodes since but nothing nearly as consistent (IMO) since 1 - 4 or 5 (yeah, I'm one if those guys).

Still enjoy the show although some things grate on me. But it's only a TV show for me so I dont get too wrapped up in the details.

Wait, it's only a TV show? I guess that explains why none of the characters have answered my Christmas cards!

In all seriousness, you and I had the same reaction to Howard and Bernie, and I'm wondering if that's just an old clip. Not that I have any issue with them having > 2 kids, more just I don't want them recycling the same storyline (again) to generate excitement on the show.

And I also agree that it's probably a tall order for this to be the "best season ever". I'm not expecting that, but with it being the very last season I hope the writers will bring their A-game and give us the "best season in a while".
