The only episodes I enjoy anymore are the reruns where someone royally sticks it to Sheldon. The rest of them only make me want to murder him. I'll try watching the last season, but I'm not hopeful. I maintain that, in reality, he would need a bodyguard. Otherwise he'd have been neaten to death before he turned 25.

I so agree. I have watched very few first run episodes. I do occasionally watch the reruns but I mute it if Sheldon is the focus. There have been very few people who I want to punch in the face (& yes I know he isn't real) but OMG he makes me really angry.

I would love it if they ended the show with it all being a manifestation of Sheldon's mental illness (or something along those lines).

You guys watched 12 seasons and NOW you've had enough, yeah ok. That's like when you eat a pint of ice cream and promise to stop when the spoon hits the bottom.

Ms. Queen, Like I said in my post I have watched very few first run episodes. I watched sporadically the first season & hardly at all from the second until now. From the beginning I have detested Sheldon but I watched occasionally because I liked Raj, Penny, & sometimes Leonard.

By now Sheldon has moved out and has Amy to subdue his rudeness. Leonard and Howard now have Penny and Bernie to protect them. The only characters who really stood up to Sheldon are Mary, Leslie and Kripke. Really what point is there in watching the show without Sheldon who is the main focus anyways. Don't let Sheldon bully you like he does everyone else. By the way have you seen Young Sheldon ?

I think in recent seasons Sheldon is at his most tolerable.

From the accounts of his youth, he did get beaten up/bullied a lot. As an adult, he generally avoids the types of places where a good a$$ whippin' might occur. He has been clever (or lucky) in that way.

In real life I would not want to spend time with someone like Sheldon, but his character is why the show has been so popular and without him the show would be like grilled cheese without the cheese.

Well, at least there are the other seven characters (plus many stellar guest stars) to give you some relief.

Think "Roseanne" (Vol. 1) pretty much trumped this show when it comes to playing the "it all being a manifestation" card.

Yes I know but it would still make me happy.

"St. Elsewhere" played the "it all being a manifestation" card the best and way before "Roseanne"

But still, playing it "the best" still means the whole show basically just goes in the toilet. It's a terrible way to treat an audience.

Was Bobby's dream on Dallas before St. Elsewhere? I can't remember (old brain).

Agreed.

I would say so.

I agree with Knixon, "it was all a dream" is a terrible idea and way to treat an audience.

St Elsewhere finale was May 1988. Bobby "returned" to Dallas Sept 86. But Dallas was just a one-season "reset." St Elsewhere threw all 137 episodes down the crapper. It wasn't even like a regular character's one-season dream or something. (And, I should add, the Dallas spin-off series Knot's Landing continued as though Bobby was still dead.)
