Please name a happy or fun memory from the old board. It can be of a person, a conversation, a thread, heck even an argument. Something that you look back upon fondly now and/or with a chuckle. Just keep it nice and no insults, please. This is a thread to celebrate the special character of that board and it took all of us to make it special.

My first memory (and I have more): When several of us turned our avatars into our 4-year old selves.

Signatures.

Used to love reading Signatures.

A Signature is such a personal choice; not dictated by anything except the character of the poster. I think a Signature gives just a tiny peek behind the perceived-anonymity-curtain associated with posting on Boards. - That it tells us “something real” about the person posting. - That it is the only truly unfiltered look we get at each other.

We had a fashion thread and I posted my Sailor Moon slippers. You told me I was stylish and PK Larkins (R.I.P) admitted she liked the slippers, one of the more heartwarming threads we had on the old board.

Me having a huge crush on Masstrip.

Also the pet peeves thread, when Murph got hired as a teacher and we all were happy for him. When the poster Vanessa revealed she loved NSYNC more than Back street Boys.

All the music threads and the discussions that followed. The "tell a story about your Dad " thread on father's day 2014. The fan fiction we wrote together as a community.

The tatoos thread. My infamous marriage thread that you guys clearly proved me wrong About considering I'm engaged 3 years later. When Unscleric would show up in all his curmudgeony charm and post a "review "of every episode.

When we talked other sitcoms like Cheers, Full House , etc.The sports threads, political debates, Tyshocks brilliant prose. Sandman and his recollections of his acting days. Murph taping reports. Znex recipes.

BLT bragging about her bank account .

Gothish and her effusive priase for Green Day.

I'm getting teary eyed so I'll stop here.

Probably just all the OT threads. Out of all the boards on IMDB, TBBT board had the best OT threads.

Signatures! I miss those, too. I had almost forgotten about them, yet I had so much fun with them at the time. One of the special "little touches" of that board.

Agreed. The OT threads were how we became a real community.

Thank you for taking the time to make this list Erica! I enjoyed reading all of it. I quoted these two parts because they were the ones I most wanted to respond to.

Tyg is someone I really miss a lot. He was so wise. I respected the hell out of him. We were also in the same line of work, and I remember wondering if he was someone I'd ever cross paths with, but not know it.

I also miss Sandman. I did not always agree with him, but I enjoyed it when he told his stories, and I remember telling him I had the mental image of us all sitting around him listening like a bunch of kids listening to their grandpa.

Also, I miss Murph. Come back Murph!!

I know you said you'd stop there for now, but feel free to add more if you want to.

My next entry: One of the things I loved doing so much on that board were the competitions. I think my favorite was the joke competition- there were so many entries and it was so much fun. Znex won with his self-written lemon joke and he was the first to get to pick my avatar.

Yeah. When I'm out and about, and see-something-but-can't-say-something, it often comes to mind and makes we slight_smile .

I know this poster was on the Board's "Most Unwanted List"; but some of those tirades really tickled my funny-bone. Plus, some imp fellow posters were so very good at yanking this poster's chain that they helped keep the poster “loaded-for-bear”.

Still can't think about some of those encounters without laughing .

Can you believe Kaley Cuoco and her DUCKFACE? Makes me SICK to my STOMACH. Good thing I have all this MONEY to comfort me or I don't know what I would DO!

I remember the hilarious banter you had with Youmightrabbityoumight , trendrick and Znex, Mrs.Lemons.

I also remember the collective anuerysms the regulars had when people would say "jump the shark" or ask why Penny cut her hair.

As for specific threads I remember the massive debate on that board over the episode when Penny punched Howard, that thread turned into an all out war.

I also remember one particular thread that I'll never forget: during the time people wanted to boycott the Oscars, Erica posted a "Boycott the Otters" parody thread about equal representation for marshland animals and the whole board went along with the joke. When I read it I spit my coffee out.

And then someone "outed" BLT as actually being a (gay) male.

I'm enjoying reading everyone's answers! Another happy memory I have is of planning a special day together with Gothish. It involved cupcake eating, centipede-avoiding and a meat locker among other things. We were lucky to have our Gothish! Always classy and always kind! She was one of our board's greatest gems! 💛

Speaking of Gothish , where is she?

She hasn't posted in months and her screename is different.

Let's not forget the "Community" fan-invasion. There were some congenial ones; but there were also some clown clown clown.
