I've never seen "It's Alive" so I had to check out a clip.
I don't think they sound alike; still it was hard to pick a "worse" winner.
As for the show--don't think the crying baby sound is fx.

It's not, as in not artificial. But they went too far in wanting it to sound like Howard's mother.

It may not sound exactly like it, but it's close enough to give e the willies. Hope that poor kid they used doesn't grow up sounding that way.

Now that she is much older, we should be rid of that "baby cry".
But, I've heard toddlers cry; and it’s unpleasant enough all by itself. Let’s hope they don’t decide to torture fan and scatter pets by putting a Debbie-spin on it.
