Was looking up something on Kripke; and saw a list of cast names with Amy listed as Fowler—Cooper; don’t think this whole the-guys-are-married thing had truly hit home untiI I saw that.
Penny NKnownMN-Hofstadter
Dr. Bernadette Maryann Rostenkowski-Wolowitz
Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler-Cooper
Boggles the mind, doesn’t it? King of the Nerds and two of the three members of his royal court are married.
Leonard getting married: I can see that. He was a sponge from the start—always on a quest to “soak up” some love.
Howard getting married: Finding someone who’d want him--seemed highly unlikely. I was fine with him just the way he was; but let’s face it; he was batting a big fat “zero” when it came to having any attributes that would appeal to any sex (opposite or otherwise—except for Raj, of course).
Sheldon getting married: He appeared to be so totally disinterested when it came to the “XX” side of the equation that finding someone he’d wanted (or, wanting someone who found him) looked like it was out of the question.
-1. Just goes to show--you never know--thought Raj (only one more desperate than Leonard) would be the first to go.
-2. Just think how rich someone would be if they had wager on three of the four guys being married by now.
-3. Wonder what odds they are giving on Raj walking down the aisle before that final "cut!" call.
-4. Now I'm the one starting to feel like Leonard before Shamy's (one-last-time-use) wedding.

All those names are brutal. Why would you want to hyphenate your name when you already have three long names?
I want to hyphenate mine but only because his last name complements my last name and my names aren't that many syllables.

Amy's is the only one that sounds good. The rest sound like sleazy law firms.

Only guessing here; but…
-1. Think that since folks are getting married later in life they don’t want to lose the name-recognition that comes with having established themselves before getting hitched. Probably why “Cuoco” became “Cuoco-Sweeting” instead of just “Sweeting” during that brief time she was married.
-2. Copycats. Whatever the latest “it” thing is and/or whatever a celebrate/public figure does, monkey-see-monkey-doers tend to follow suit.
