The writers made a few things clear when Bernie returned to the office

1) Coworkers immediately needed her help so many of them are dependent on her.

2) The people who work under her are careful to cater to her preferences, (due to respect, fear or both?)

3) She clearly loves her job

I don't think she's cut out to be a stay at home mother any more than Howard is cut out to be a stay at home dad. She's by nature a career woman. Thankfully she has the luxury of two guys who are willing nannies (Raj and Stuart) but Raj wouldn't go as far as suspend his career to be a full-time booger wiper. Stuart has a business to maintain.

IMO The only fix is to vet and hire a REAL professional live in nanny who becomes a permanent cast member.

My idea was that they hire a young woman who has an immediate connection with Raj and that's how he finds his soul mate.

What do you guys think?

Yes Bernie interacting with her co-workers has more comedic potential than being house bound. Whatever Howard does has not been really used well, he is not going back to space anyways. Stewart has enough to deal with at the comic book store, although he could bring the kids along on a "bring your kind of friends kids to watch them at work day". Having Raj hit on the Nanny is just kind of creepy to me. I am done with all his failed romances anyways, no more please. Also I would rather not have another cast member to bog things up. As for another yuppie couple who pass off the child rearing to some nanny, Yikes. Bernie and Howard have enough friends to pass the poor kids around too. Her Dad one week, Shamy another week. Leonard and Penny the next week. Maybe even have Beverly watching the little darlings once in a while. Mary might just run off with them and take them to Texas, not that Bernie and Howie would notice with their busy lives. Again Raj hitting on the Nanny or the Nanny hitting on Raj .... Ewww !

ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe a female who is a cross between Raj and Stuart--but, too old to interest Raj OR Stuart.

Need to keep Raj looking-and-single to give hope to all the looking-and-single Fanerds out there.

As for the rest, I'm thinking

-1. At work we call them SMEs: Subject Matter Experts--They either know, or know who knows, or can tell you how to find out. They are God's gift to any organization--can save you mega hours of chasing-your-tail.

-2. Neither respect nor fear: The coffee and cookie guy had Suck up! written all over him.

-3. Pretty easy to see how much she loves being Dr. Rostenkowski. When the toady first called her that, I was taken aback; we've been calling her Bernie so long that I've forgotten about the Dr. part.

I suspect everyone at work calls her Dr - except maybe some of her bosses, and Penny - lest they feel the sting of her whip.

I agree that tea and cookie guy was brown-nosing in the worst way but I think perhaps Bernadette makes his job much easier by being the SME as you described. People like that are beloved in any office.
