Apspriest The Big Bang Theory

Did anyone catch "Living Biblically", the new sitcom based on the book about a man who decides to live according to the bible. It is exec-produced by Johnny Galecki. The pilot was alright and from what I hear not as good as the book. Sarah Gilbert and Camryn Manheim have a small roles and even MeeMaw June Squibb showed up. The main character as if from a corny joke consults with a priest and a rabbi.

Hollywood denizen Rob Long (former head writer for Cheers, current show-runner/producer for Kevin Can Wait, etc) has said in various interviews that people with titles like "Executive Producer" have little or nothing to do with what's actually in a show. It's a way to give them more money (e.g., if they can't filter enough to satisfy him through the official TBBT budget), or to get them not to sue if they had an idea for a similar show earlier... Or just to make them feel important when they're really not.

I didn't watch it yet but the concept doesn't excite me. Is he going to run into a casino and overturn every craps table, then give out fish and bread?

Since it's Hollyweird (credit to Michael Medved) I would expect them to have him read "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" so he goes on a murderous rampage in Salem, Mass. or something.

But that wouldn't make for a very long series. So maybe that's the series finale. After they've made fun of everything else in the bible.

Not yet.

Going by previews/promos/whatever it look like more of the SOS--however, even though this is the Internet (thanks for the reminder, Sheldon), I'll not condemn a show without first giving it a look-see.

I'll be back!

The Main character did throw a stone at an adulterer in the pilot so let the fish fly.

Just ONE stone? I don't think that's what "stoning" is supposed to be.

On the other hand...

Maybe if it's a big enough stone...

Watched it.

More of the same.

Reminded me of the first season of "Kevin Can Wait"--(I think the similarity has a lot to do with the mannerisms/acting style of the actress who plays the wife. Didn't care for the wife on KCW--don't care for the wife on this one.)

Anyway...

The ONLY funny thing was the McDonald's commercial about the guy who had not bought groceries since whenever.

Also watched "Let's Get Physical" - Where is a McDonald's commercial when you need one!?
