Diskuter The Big Bang Theory

Sheldon and company haven't mentioned the much anticipated Avengers 3rd installment coming out in a few months. What gives, Chuck Lorre?

Here are my questions for you guys, Lemons style.

1) Who is your favorite member of the Avengers?

2) How bad are they going to get their behinds kicked in Part 1? (It's pretty much confirmed Vision is going to die )

3) Are you going to see the movie opening night?

What a nicely organized thread! I like what you've done around here.

  1. This one is somewhat hard for me. Thor is the easiest to look at but otherwise he is boring. I think Loki is the most interesting. But I like Scarlet Witch, too, because I think she's very powerful. Keep in mind though- I don't read comic books and I've only seen her in one movie.

  2. I don't know the answer to this one. I didn't think the Avengers were in the business of getting their bottoms kicked.

  3. If my sons have their way.

That's one of the reasons for having Part 1, and then Part 2.

I thought it was just so they could make lots of money. Also my son said something about this one not actually being called Part 1.

I don't know if it's called Part 1 or not. I actually stopped paying attention to the Avengers movies when they started getting too cluttered (for me, anyway) with excess characters. And especially when I heard about Female Thor, just out of protest. And even more when I read about how they were going to make it so that Captain America was actually evil, and part of Hydra. And not just that he'd BECOME that way, but that he REALLY HAD BEEN ALL ALONG! I hate that kind of crap.

I want to see an all Hulk team go against the Avengers. Green Hulk, Red Hulk, Grey Hulk, She Hulk, and Polka Dotted and Paisley Hulk.

1) Who is your favorite member of the Avengers?

So many Avengers so little time for each of them in the movies. But I hear that Ant-Man And The Wasp will be in it so those two.

2) How bad are they going to get their behinds kicked in Part 1? (It's pretty much confirmed Vision is going to die )

Umm lots of CGI punching and kicking so pretty bad.

3) Are you going to see the movie opening night?

Probably not. But then again maybe.

-1. Hawkeye.

-2. Expect to see quite a LOT of wound-licking going on; but, also expect to see them still standing at the end.

-3. Opening night--iffy. Opening weekend--definite.

They haven't fought anyone as powerful as Thanos before( in the films at least).

In an effort to have conversations with my 16-year-old son that he might actually find interesting, we occasionally have debates over who's going to be the one to kill Thanos in the end. Does anyone have any guesses to put forth? I always say Scarlet Witch, to which he says that I'm wrong. He thinks it'll be one of the main four Avengers.

I think it'll take all of them, plus the Guardians of the Galaxy together, and some kind of Deus Ex Machina in the 2nd part.

Thanos is like ,really absurdly strong.

If he acquires all six gems for the Infinity Gauntlet, they have no chance.

I'm sure the Avengers will win in the end, but you're probably right that it will take all of them to prevail.

Any guesses on who will die? My son thinks Loki and Vision will. I don't want Loki to die! If someone has to die, here is my list of characters I don't mind them taking: Nebula, Vision, Black Widow

Loki - Don't see it. He seems to have "Road-Runner" genes when it comes to giving-death-the-slip. (It's getting to be pretty close to a "running gag".)

Vision - Certainly hope not. But, can see it as some "one/many" grand-sacrifice. Still, it would be a real downer; because when it comes to favorites, only Hawkeye holds a higher place for me than Vision.

Nebula - One can always hope. Doubt if any fan is that vested in her as a member of the team. All things considered, I'd be happy to bomb her myself.

Black Widow - While it is always a possibility - don't think so. She is core. She is female. She is safe.

Vision is 100% going to die in part 1. Thanos needs the mind stone that he has in his head to complete the Gauntlet and the trailer shows him taking it.

Thing is, they might be able to bring Vision back when they win in part 2.

Also, I agree with you on Loki and black widow being safe. I doubt they kill off the role model female chracter who has her own movie in development.

3) Are you going to see the movie opening night?

1) I like the Captain.

2) BADLY. Then the cavalry (The Guardians of the Galaxy) will come in and make a difference in part 2.

3) Midnight screening sounds intriguing but I can wait.

Actually, I never understood how Black Widow is still alive. She doesn't really have any kind of super power or strength or anything, which means she could be taken out by a STRAY bullet or a flying piece of concrete or whatever, just as easily as by anyone TRYING to kill her. And even in the very first Avengers movie, there was plenty of stuff flying around. Plus that stunt where she's supposedly boosted up on Captain America's shield to grab onto that alien scooter thing flying past? Oh sure. I'm reminded of Sheldon's argument that when Superman goes to "catch" Lois Lane falling from the roof of the Daily Planet building, his strong-as-steel arms would actually slice her into 3 pieces.

But that said, I still enjoy seeing her in action in more sensible situations, such as:

And "Agent Coulson On Hold" always cracks me up. He's all just "ho hum" as those noises come through his phone... joy
