Apspriest The Big Bang Theory

We know there is no way Amy is ever going to get cold feet. And, once upon a time Sheldon may have been iffy; but no matter what he said, I think that time is long gone.

Question

Did anyone here get “cold feet” leading up to the Big Day? If so, who (if anyone) “talked-you-through-it”?

This probably would have been a great TIME TO GET cold feet...

Recently read a book by a celeb where she talks about her third marriage (ended in divorce).

Anyway, before the ceremony her mom pulled her aside and said (not a quote): You know you don’t want this; my car is right outside; here are the keys; take them and get out of here.

She said that she didn’t answer her mom with (not quotes): No, I love him. – No, I finally found the man of my dreams. No, he is the one I want to be with the rest of my life.

She answered her mom with (not a quote): No, I can’t do that--I have all these people here. She said the idiocy built into that statement didn’t occur to her until later.

I have cold feet because it's literally zero degrees outside, but I'm not worried about "the big day".

Mine is awhile from now 😊

I never had one moment of doubt. And you couldn't pry the smile off my face on the Big Day.

My middle sister expressed doubts to me the night before her first wedding, where I advised her to call it off, and that it would be better for her to run screaming "NO!" up the aisle than go throught with it and then have to go through a divorce later. She didn't listen, and ended up leaving him before their first anniversary. In her wedding pictures she's one of the unhappiest brides you've ever seen.

Forgot that you are rolling toward your own "Big Day". Sounds like no spare oncoming_automobile key will be needed!

I've had friends like that; who seem like they were "married" the minute they met.

But, I've also had some like your sister who-- "tip toe" down the aisle.

I did not get cold feet, but a friend of mine did, to the point she begged a former fling to take her back two days before her wedding. When he would not, she went through with the wedding...and they were separated within 6 months. I think she was terrified of being alone.

Yikes. Being afraid to be alone is understandable, but I don't get how people who aren't multi-millionaires or celebrities can get married without being 100% sure. Even the most amicable of divorces is painful and costly. Throw kids in and it becomes even more awful. I'm not the least bit religious, but I take marriage very seriously. I would be terrified to say "I do" to someone if I had any doubts at all.

She also placed a lot of her self-worth on having a significant other, unfortunately. She actually had a failed second marriage and finally remained an eternal bachelorette after that, raising a child alone and succeeding quite well in her career. She had to learn some hard lessons first, though.

My sister is like that, and one of my cousins. Both thrice-divorced. My cousin seems to have stopped the search for now, but my sister has been with her current boyfriend over seven years, living together for four. I think she's done getting married though! stuck_out_tongue

I never had a doubt cross my mind. When I saw her I knew she was the one.

But now, every time I leave the toilet seat up and get an earful I'm wondering if my better half is wishing she had a TARDIS.

Btw I don't watch Dr. Who, is the TARDIS a time machine?

Guess you should never-say-never.

It wasn't exactly "cold feet"; but, surprised Amy had (has?) doubts.

Thought she'd go into this whole marriage thing walking-on-sunshine.

Anyone else also surprised she told Leonard she was worried that getting married may affect (and not for the better) the relationship she and Sheldon has. (Pretty sure I have a better sentence in me--just not one to be had now.) sunglasses

"Cool Feet", maybe?

I think more than doubt, Amy has fears- fears that marriage could mess things up as they are now. She had to work hard to get Sheldon to his current state-of-being, and she may view what they have as delicate or fragile. (Or she may view Sheldon as delicate or fragile, and I think he is.) At least I think that's some of what she might feel.
