Alright mister. Back to you now. After 1.5 days on a mountain top wondering how on earth you could find my OP lengths so distressing, I realized you must have picked up a copy of the new Marvin Flurplemeister book, "Message Board Etiquette and You". So I picked up a copy at my local bookstore and have begun reading it. I now realize that an acceptable OP should contain exactly 2.4 questions, and going forward, that is what they shall contain. I've even drawn up a "Message Board Agreement" for everyone here to sign, after which Sheldon will notarize it. I've also learned that inflammatory OP's get the most responses, so be looking for my thread on appliance-related house fires. However, I will have to apologize for future possible transgressions, as I threw the book out the window at Chapter 3, "Derailments are for Dorks."
I like rocks. Growing up, I always used to look for cool rocks in yards and such, and I remember in grammar school, a kid in my class had a big quartz rock in his yard and he would break pieces off and give them to me and my friend. I gave an engraved garden rock with our name on it to my husband two Christmases ago.

Sheldon is silly; rocks are cool.
Thank you, sweet Gothish. I am the daughter of a geology major and I like rocks, too. In fact, when I was a girl of 3 or 4 (or both), I had a large rock in my backyard upon which I would sit to think and be alone. Of course, at that age my thoughts probably consisted of "I want candy for dinner" and "Should I try to eat that dandelion?", but still, it was a place of sanctuary.
Haha! My grandparents had a big mulit-level yard with rock ledges and my siblings and I loved climbing on them. I was always jealous of people who lived in condo complexes or had nice yards that used those big rocks for decorative landscaping. I would've loved to have one that I could climb on and just hang out there.
Thinking about it, I guess I've always loved rocks!

Settle down there Lemoons, I did not find your post distressing just intensely involving. I do hope that a "Message Board Agreement" is on its way and expect to see even longer series of questions from you in the future.
More fun with rocks
When I was a wee little z I recall going with my mother and grandmother to Indiana (I think that was the state). Anyways I recall going to some big open pit or rock finding place and hunt for what I remember were called Geodes. Anyways some kind of rock. I also have a Petosky Stone or two from Upper Michigan. Also, I have some vague memory of standing in a long line to see moon rocks. Or maybe going to the moon to see them firsthand. I might have a small book like box with a display of rocks suitable for any show and tell somewhere. I also have a huge boulder in front of the house that was put there eons ago by the builder of the house. End of Rock story.

I tried carbon dating one once and it was a disaster.
They don't talk very much or offer to split the check.
