As previously mentioned, I really liked this episode. Even more so after a second viewing. And after watching it I have one prediction and one opinion. I'd love to know your thoughts on them.
1.Prediction: Sheldon will win the Nobel Prize in Physics through his work in geology. Think about it, even though I'm sure it wasn't purposeful, it's as if the whole series has set it up this way. His years of disdain for geology plus his never-ending quest for the prize, it would be absolutely perfect. I suspect that Bert will take him back in a future episode, and that Leonard will lose interest (if he was really interested to begin with- he may have just been trying to get Sheldon's goat). I mean, if they're able to prove dark matter with this work, that's Nobel prize-worthy, and certainly related to physics. Wouldn't it be something if geology was the key he needed to unlock the door to his dreams? Ha!
2.Opinion: Ruchi is too cold and is not endearing. The way she described love as solely a biochemical reaction and the fact that this is the lens through which she views it really turned me off. Yes, I realize there is truth in what she said, but I definitely don't view my emotions and other bodily reactions in terms of their scientific background. And I'm a science major! Sheesh. Then I'd just be a robot-like vessel of predictable biological responses. No thank you! I'm a red-blooded, complex, life-loving, adventure-seeking (as long as it ends by my bedtime and does not involve escalators), wonder-filled woman! (Again, I'm not saying that this is not part of the reality, but it's not how I choose to view it.) And I do think there is something to romance that goes beyond biochemistry, if you take it there. Sheesh again! Let yourself enjoy the magic Ruchi!

Ha! I'm surprised he hasn't already done that! I mean, he has made up "Days" (Leonard's Day), so why not awards? Give him time.

I certainly hope Sheldon misses out on what hopefully will be a Nobel Prize, while Bert and Leonard win one.
As for Raj and Rushi, it's doomed. Raj is a needy whiny baby, and that will (or should) push Rushi away rather quickly.
We just re-watched the episodes where Raj was bragging/gloating about being with 2 women at the same time. Whenever anything is going well for this clown, he's an unbearable jerk. Then when it's not going his way, he cries like a baby. I'm at the point where I can't stand Raj. If they ever need to do a cost cutting move, they could lose him and this show would then be an example of "Addition by Subtraction".

That was my thought as well, Sheldon will probably win his Nobel In the most ironic and disappointing of ways.
2)As much as she isn't "sunshine and rainbows" she's not wrong either, just innacurate with the terms she's using. Infatuation as she described is completely biochemical. Love is an aftereffect of the biochemical processes that produce infatuation, and love is psychological.

Yes, she was really describing lust/infatuation, rather than love.

I get what you mean ,Foxy, but psychology is also biochemical. In order to love, you're acting on emotions and thoughts deposited into memory.
The retrieval process to access memory is ...... Biochemical.
Ruchi is technical not wrong. But we could argue love is conceptual and can be separated from tangible processes.
