I think that Penny will obsess over her new hobby of armchair Child Psychologist and try to use book advice on Howard and Bernadette's kids . That obsession will only get enabled even further with Beverly's influence, especially when they start hanging out more often.

If she does that I suspect it could cause some tension between her and Howard and Bernadette. They may not appreciate her amateur advice. Actually, one of the pieces of advice I sometimes give expectant moms (when asked) is not to give too much creedence to books. Sometimes they can scare you to death! Oh no! My baby's poop isn't the color the books say it should be!
I figured they were making Penny read parenting books to plant a seed in the audience's head. In other words, hmmm, will this make Penny want to be a mom?

I suspect that if they're not going to use it on Sheldon any more, the book interest will disappear. Just like many other things do, once they've been used in an episode. Such as Sheldon's eidetic memory.
