Amy recorded what Sheldon said in his sleep AND shared it with Leonard and Penny.
I know she felt she was doing what was best for him; but her act left-a bad-taste; it seemed so disrespectful and invasive.
If she had recorded it and played it back just for him--that would have been one thing; but playing it for others, no matter the reason, was just wrong, wrong, wrong.
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
I've only had someone accuse me of sleep-talking once. Although, I denied it; I actually remembered what I said. Maybe I remember because they started asking me questions while I was sleep-talking.
Also, on some level I knew what I was saying and that it wasn’t making any sense. I’ve had surgery and it reminded me of “anesthesia” sleep--time just before you completely regain consciousness.
Anyway:
Shame on one-half of Shamy!

I suppose I agree that it was in bad taste, although I think she was doing it to get their advice. She was truly concerned. Sometimes we don't think clearly about the best course of action when we are worried.
I've never talked in my sleep (to my knowledge), but once Mr. Lemons told me he was pregnant while dreaming. Another night he clobbered me in bed (not badly) and when I woke him to ask what the heck he was doing, he informed me that he was going up for a layup.

I agree that was wrong of Amy. but then who else does Amy have to discuss Sheldon about ?

I agree it was invasive and in bad taste to share with Leonard and Penny. but remember, Amy is a Neuroscientist first and a fiance second. She was hypothesizing more than she was invading.

I didn't have a problem with her sharing, as he really didn't say anything embarassing or personal. I'd like to think that if that were the case, Amy would've been more discreet and respected Sheldon's privacy.

Not that I think recording him is OK either way; but, I agree that if he had said something untoward, she wouldn’t have played it for Leonard and Penny. I think she still would have discussed it with them—and I also think that part is OK.
But, unless you are undercover (ha ha), recording someone while they are sleep-talking is a big
--sharing it with someone else, without that person’s knowledge or consent, is
.

Its not that Sheldon has a history of respecting boundaries either. Amy was concerned and worried about him and had only Leonard and Penny to go to. Plus it was amusing and I believe that Sheldon eventually understood and appreciated her concern.

No argument with any of the above. It is just that for me certain actions are on my moral "no-fly" list.

But if Sheldon were anywhere closer to normal she could have just discussed it with him directly.

Once my previous wife sat up and screamed in her loudest voice, NOOOooo! She slept on the door side of the bed and I on the window side. I woke in terror thinking this was “it” but she just laid back down without another peep. When questioned in the morning she had no recollection.

Once in the middle of the night, a cat that was sleeping on the bed with me let out a howl like you wouldn't believe, and sat bolt-upright staring at the wall for several minutes. Freakiest thing I've ever seen. I wonder what he thought was attacking him? When I asked him in the morning, he said "Meow."
