Discuss The Big Bang Theory

In the season premiere we learned that Amy's father is living and that Sheldon has some degree of familiarity with him. I am guessing that we will eventually meet him with the upcoming nuptials.

  1. What do you think he will be like? Strict like her mother? A quiet academic?

  2. Who would be best to play him? I would love to see it be Robert Carradine. First he'd make a great nerd dad and it would be funny since his brother is already on the show.

I think there's a lot of comedic potential with Amy's parents.

Speaking of shoes, when is Penny going to get that big check in the mail from the shoe-finding app???

Perhaps Amy's father is the check-writer for the big phone app company (that's what it's called) and will bring it with him to the wedding. Penny will then get mad at him for taking so long to process her check and he'll send her to the sin closet.

Because Amy's father wants to sin with Penny like so many of us do?

I suppose I set you up for that...

As soon as the guys get the check for their equation finding app. Penny must be living well of her Penny Blossom investments and Serial Ape-ist residuals.

But they figured the market for the equation finding app was less than a dozen buyers or something.

Amy's father should be William Shatner...or Dan from Roseanne we've had three Roseanne cast members on the show already.

Well Shatner played the dad on the sitcom, "...My Father Says" so, he can’t be ruled out as dad-material. But, I think it would be great to have an “unknown” or "lesser known" as Amy’s dad. That way it’s more about the storyline and less about the person. Also, it’s probably easier to “recur” an unknown/lesser than a known.

As for Goodman, he is a favorite. If they were going to have a “name”; then he would do nicely. The only reason I wouldn't want to see him as Amy’s father is BECAUSE of the "Roseanne" connections. As you said, there are already three (Mrs. C./Leonard/Leslie). And, that’s enough--anymore and we are leaning toward cute—I hate cute.

Make him being her dad as a dream sequence...would be a hilarious tie-in back to Roseanne being all a dream.

I think his personality should be a complete contrast to her mother, someone laid back and funny played by Craig Anton.
