Discuss The Big Bang Theory

I loved it. The whole opening scene was great; I loved how they handled things. And Bernie is preggars again? Didn't see that coming. Have to continually give this show credit for its ability to surprise me and go the unpredictable route.

Liked it for the most part. Certainly there is still gas left in the tank because the writing and acting were pretty sharp tonight. The only problem I had was them going into well-worn territory with Sheldon embarrassing Amy in front of her colleagues. It's been done before and I don't think it works very well within the framework of this ep in particular.

Light on the L/P, but it sounds like next week's ep gives them the focus.

I don't like Bernie being pregnant again. Other than that it was a funny episode.

Same here (initially); but since Sheldon learned no lesson the first time around; in the end I appreciated the revisit as evidence of his growth.

Of course, it took a push from Hawking before Sheldon saw-the-light. But, not only would the “Old” Sheldon not have seen the light; no way would ANYONE ever have been able to convince him that there was even a light to see.

I liked the positive direction they took with Amy's response to the proposal, Sheldon's ability see the error of his ways with her colleagues, and Amy's hug to Ramona at the end. I think the only thing I wasn't 100% on board with was Bernie's pregnancy. Not that people don't sometimes have two kids close together, but in terms of the TV show it felt like recycled plot.

I was surprised how it turned out with the proposal. Having Bernie have another baby when we see so little of the first ? More of the same baby topics covered again. Also poor Amy always putting up with Sheldon's self absorbed jerkiness. Sheldon will always be Sheldon and Amy should dump him for Rajesh.

Raj is a big jerk too, maybe even a bigger jerk, just in different ways.

They all have their problems. It's just that Raj is suave or plays at being suave and Amy uses the formal Rajesh when she talks to him. Maybe Amy isn't such a prize either. I am just tired of the Shamy.

He was in this ep, you're right. But I find it hard to believe they'd have Stuart go on a date and not have something big planned for him this season.

Well Amy is definitely no prize, that's for sure. And of course that means she's not nearly hot enough for Raj. Maybe she could use her knowledge of neurobiology etc to "enslave" him, like the Venus Butterfly from L.A. Law.

I don't mind Bernie being pregnant again. I was surprised by that because most sitcom characters don't have another child so soon. Makes me wonder just how "careful" they've actually been! grin

Read that the actress is/was "That Way" in real life; so, guess they decided to write it in.

But, I'm with you scream !

She's pregnant because Melissa is pregnant. Unless they hide her belly behind random objects or write her off the show, she has to be pregnant on the show too .

They didn't have a choice. Melissa is pregnant.

Pretty dull for my tastes but I did enjoy bits and pieces here or there. BBT openers are usually average episodes and the season gets better from there.

Knock on wood!
