It only took me five years, but I got a full-time job in the Chicago Public School system as a computer teacher. Hopefully now I can budget my time better. And I'll be ready to comment next Monday, natch.
Wow, health insurance. What's that like? I forgot...

Health-wise, I need to work on it. Better diet/exercise/etc. I'll be teaching freshmen and sophomores (I think) computer business applications. One of the classes starts a three-year game programming curriculum that I may want to start studying before the 18-19 school year, since I don't know jack crap about C#.

New management took over... and then our 'revolving door' of employees became the salaried engineers and managers... I was a programmer of PLCs and Robots... they started slashing jobs and pay rates... or demoting employees... even putting 'working managers' such as maintenance shift supervisors who actually did repairs not just sat at a desk on salary with mandatory OT without OT pay. I was the step below these guys... I was going to get a huge pay cut, then a demotion with an even bigger pay cut... instead of that, they just eliminated my job.
Out of work for 27 months... no prospects... everyone wants someone with 10 years experience in "everything" these days instead of just a few areas (programming, electronics, electrical repair).
