What drastic change or event could they introduce that would draw you in for next season that isn't a cheap gimmick , or to avoid using the infamous phrase we all hate : leaping the carnivorous fish?
Maybe Raj wins the 700 million dollar Powerball?

Good points. If we're assuming continuity in characterization, Sheldon would never debase himself as to accept something Leonard declined.
And I think if Leonard had dated Amy at any point , Sheldon would have never dated her.

Oh come on, Sheldon can justify anything to the glory of Sheldon. If nothing else, Princeton inviting Sheldon to go there would allow Sheldon to claim that Princeton had clearly returned to greatness. Even if they had invited Leonard first. Sheldon could claim that they thought they couldn't get him because HE'S so great, but they decided to take the chance after dodging the bullet of Leonard...

As opposed to the rest of the TV show which has a solid, factual grounding in reality?

That's too easy; so, I'm just gonna leave it go.

I hope the big twist is that Amy says no to Sheldon's proposal. I don't think Sheldon is ready to get married. I feel like he only proposed because he freaked out over the kiss and feels safe with Amy.

I agree that the kiss freaked Sheldon out. What I think will happen is that Amy says no to Sheldon then gives him a list of things to do in order prove that he is worthy of her love.

And then, as he's done in the past, Sheldon finds a way to trick her into thinking he's changed, when he really hasn't.

Before that nano-slice of a promo, I would have argued with you. After all, this has been her goal since WayBackWhen. But, now, I can see her hesitating to pledge her troth to a man who after all this time is still so completely clueless in his callous disregard for her feelings.
Truth is, don’t even think hearing a NO from her lips would “open his eyes” to how his actions show no consideration for, no thought to: HWTMAF (How Will This Make Amy Feel?).
I’m not saying he should be able to read her mind (don’t me wish!); but if she is the love of his life, then focusing on her and putting her above others in certain situation should be intuitive.
Of course, I can’t think of anything (tangible) that she could put on a list that WOULD open his eyes.
Now; also hoping she says
--don't think he is husband material (..........yet).

So far the show achieved the goal of marrying Leonard and Penny and Howard and Bernie. Now it is Amy and Sheldons turn. If Amy says yes then the next episodes will deal with planning the wedding and such. If Amy says no then the next episodes will have to deal with Sheldon having to get Amy to say yes and then planning the wedding and such. There is no point now in having Amy in the show at all if she and Sheldon are not a pair. Too many Shamy fans would be distraught if they split up and I doubt that the show would get into the complication of a return to single Amy and Sheldon. Amy would have to find a new beau and Sheldon might just hop a train again. What I want to say here is that there is more episode material here if Amy says no then yes later on. This option also provides a chance for Amy to stand up more for herself and less catering to Sheldon in the Shamy paradigm. They have to stretch this thing out for another season or two ending with another celebration. What the show needs is a loop counter and a direct line to the "Least Objectionable Activity," as in Sheldon's friendship algorithm. As for Raj, he ends up marrying no one at all and no one really cares either.

Yeah.
Have to agree.
No Shamy--No Amy.
Pretty sure
they will not go the Leonard-Penny-break-up-make-up (again) route.
Although, nothing says she HAS TO answer right away. Needing to
about it--does leave some wiggle room.
Just asking:
Do we know if she signed on for both seasons; or is she one-at-a-timing-it?
