I believe that CQ meant a new music thread not a thread for new music so you are safe, and anyways most of the songs people posted here are not new but some are.

I thought that could have meant otherwise. Unlike someone else around here, I'll admit when I'm in error. ;)

Here's a comparison of 2 versions of one song - both released by the same band.
I love this song - LADY - by STYX. The original version of the tune was released in 1973. The 2nd version, released in 1995, was re-recorded for their Greatest Hits album due to a dispute between the original label the song was released on, Wooden Nickel, and A&M.
Which version do you like better?
Lady - STYX 1973
Lady - STYX - 1995
Personally, I think the piano at the start of the 1995 version is what makes me select this version as the better of the two.
When I first heard that they had re-recorded the song, I was aghast. How could they re-do this song? (I had no idea at the time it was a contractual dispute). But when I first heard the piano in the 95 version, it sent a chill down my spine. It was beautiful. IMO, the entire song has a deeper, emotional feel to it.

Here's one for today. It's title describes me and my action I have to engage in to get to next baseball season.
It could also apply to the "What's wrong in Hollywood" thread, as the longer we do this, the more names will likely be engulfed in scandal.
Waiting - The Devlins
Some from IMDB will remember this tune, as I know I posted it there. But it's a cool tune that deserves airplay. It was also featured at the end of the pilot for SIX FEET UNDER, the scene where the dead father is riding a bus and waves to his son. That was a cool scene.
It's also cool because it's in a key I can sing. lol

Heard this while driving the other day. Hadn't heard it in YEARS. Made me remember just how good Fleetwood Mac is/was. It's a simple song, but it totally captures the sound of Fleetwood Mac from the mid 1970's. Such a talented group of musicians. This kind of Rock is dead.
Gold Dust Woman - Fleetwood Mac
From Wikipedia on this tune...
The take chosen for release on the 1977 Rumours album was reportedly recorded at 4 a.m., after a long night of attempts in the studio. Just before and during that final take, Stevie Nicks had wrapped her head (though not mouth) with a black scarf, veiling her senses and tapping genuine memories and emotions. Many unusual instruments were used in the recording, including an electric harpsichord with a jet phaser, which was marked with tape so Mick Fleetwood could play the right notes. To accentuate Stevie's vocals, Mick broke sheets of glass. "He was wearing goggles and coveralls — it was pretty funny. He just went mad, bashing glass with this big hammer. He tried to do it on cue, but it was difficult. Eventually, we said, ‘Just break the glass,’ and we fit it all in."
Slant critic Barry Walsh described the song as finding Nicks "at her folky (not flaky) best with one of her most poignant character studies".
