it would be better for everyone if they just did what this song recommends and just keep their hands to themselves

Hahaha! Indeed. tongue

Tis the season! snowman_with_snow

One of my favorite sitcom Christmas scenes ever

Enough of this garbage. This is Christmas ! - The Office

Heard this on the radio recently after not hearing it for years.

A Long December - Counting Crows

Here's one I heard today for the first time in a long time. Starts slow, like a lot of Dire Straits tunes, then picks up quick. Great guitar work here.

Down To The Waterline - Dire Straits

Here's a John Mellencamp song that got ZERO airplay - but it pretty good. It's actually pretty much a complete departure from nearly all his other songs.

Jerry - John Mellencamp

Here are his comments on this song...

*JERRY - *

"Songwriting, to me, has turned out to be an assortment of noodlings. When you write a good song – and I've written a lot of bad ones, so I know the difference – you kind of become elevated for a moment. I don't mean that in any grandiose way. But it's like, 'I'd better get this down now.' When that starts happening, like it did with 'Jerry' and a lot of the songs on this record, I have to say that I really had no intention of writing anything in particular.

*I didn't go in and think, 'Today I'll write a song about a guy who won't grow up.' *

I just picked up a guitar, started playing some chords (and sang) 'Jerry's yelling at the man in the moon.' It was just noodling. And I did it religiously on this record, until I was satisfied that I had written enough songs. I would get up every morning and instead of going into the art studio and painting, I went out and wrote songs. Then I'd work until I had something or until I was convinced that I wasn't going to get anything. Then I'd come back in, eat lunch, go back out and start the process again. Sometimes there'd be days – three, four, five days – where I had nothing. I'd tell (his wife) Elaine, 'Everything I write is terrible.' But then there were days – I think I wrote 'The Full Catastrophe' and 'Jerry' in the same day. It was a good day. I remember telling Elaine, 'These songs can't be any good. I've never been able to write two or three good songs in a day.'"

Erica - you might like this tune.
This one is from the early 90's, the final few years of my 'bar-hopping/clubbing' days.

Move any Mountain - The Shamen

Here is the dance club version...

Move any Mountain (12' Remix) - The Shamen

Ahhhhh, the memories of the clubs.... If I were to go in there now they'd ask "What's that 'Johnny-Gray-Beard' doing here??" lol.

Forgive me if my linkydinks don't work, I'm new here and don't have the formatting skills yet.... anyway, here's my contribution:

Sky High

Sloth's Revenge

Enjoy!

edit: second one is NSFW - language, dear.

I couldn't think of a New Years song to post so here is a trailer for a great New Years based movie

200 Cigarettes - 1999

Bringing this thread back just to get some music back in the discussion. This one is for Raj and Stuart

Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me? - 1999

Plan to see this show – just have to sell enough plasma to be able to afford a ticket.

What’d I Miss - "Hamilton" (Original Cast)

I just can't buy into the hype. I know it is supposed to be the show of the century or generation but so was "Wicked" and before that "Rent". I say forget the plasma and sell your bitcoins, Until they come up with Bit-plasma to sell.

I guess it just makes me feel special. I suppose I would like it whenever I might get a chance to see it. I have seen lots of musicals and plays and even some of the "classics" don't really do it for me. So when I do get a chance to get all Hamilton, you will be the first to know. If I don't have high expectations coming in I will be all the more impressed. I find the songs not all that to me.
