Bad News: The show didn’t get any.

Good News: Now I want to check out “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Stranger Things”.

More than the main cast (or the show itself), I really was surprised that neither Metcalf, Baranski, nor Hirsch received a “best-guest” nod.

TBBT (especially Parsons) not getting any nominations was probably the only good thing they (Emmy committee) did this year.

Also, they should just change the name to "Primetime Cable/Streaming Emmy's'.

Seems like a snub to me. Hollywood should be called Jealousyland. Maybe the community in general envies the millions TBBT has made and the ratings it gets. I have never seen any talent in the performances of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and yet her nominations never cease. Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are sleepwalking through their roles. Do Aziz Ansari, Danny Glover, and Anthony Anderson ever wonder if their nominations are made to meet diversity goals?

There's a lot of great shows on TV right now that deserve nominations , a lot of them IMO far superior to BBT.

I read that people are getting fed up with Modern Family still getting nominations

I got sick of modern family, the show really hasn't gotten any better since it started, if anything it has regressed.

One of its big problems is that you have a show with cute kids and after enough seasons the kids grow bigger but less cuter. There really is no need to watch the whole family get older and older and older. Not to mention the ridiculous Sofia Vergara / Ed O'Neil pairing.

The cute kids point is so true. Ariel Winter grew up and had has some serious body image issues that distracted her from acting, I think it affected the show.

Sofia Vergera's character is really just a wet dream for the male writers. In real life her claim to fame is taking Joe Manganiello off the market, breaking women's hearts everywhere.

My last comment on MF is that all the characters are types that can be described in one or two words, and the show doesn't seem to have risen above that. Even sitcoms can have some depth and need some after so many seasons.

But Good Lord, they just might be the sexiest couple in existence. Hot as Hades. Not to sound indelicate, but I'd watch that bootleg. wink

I definitely can't think of a better looking couple. Miz and Maryse are a close 2nd place .https://goo.gl/images/1eJhbN

A lot depends on whether you think Sofia Vergara is attractive to start with. I was never particularly enraptured with Charo either. To me Sofia Vergara is sort of a cross of Charo and one of the Gabor sisters. No thanks.

People that I am supposed to find attractive I usually don't. Sometimes they are so perfectly attractive that I find them not so interesting to look at. I find that for me to be attracted to someone they need some type of unique characteristic that stands out for me. By the way whatever happened to Penelope Cruz ?

Maybe the totally beautiful people are more like paintings or statues or something, just to be looked at? Not really fun to be around etc.

Paula Poundstone had a bit kind of about that. Skip ahead to 6:15.

I think you're attracted to the unconventional traits that make people attractive, physical and otherwise. I can be the same way.

For example David Spade is not considered by anyone to be the most hot guy out there but if youv'e ever seen him do an interview or filmed appearance he owns every room he's in , is confident and is funny as hell.

The result : He's done nothing but date extremely beautiful women his entire career.

Some people have looks alone, and some people have exceptional qualities we find endearing that put them over the top.

I agree with this. Good examples for me would be Tom Selleck, Denzel Washington, Robert Redford, Richard Gere, George Clooney...all perfectly handsome men, but they don't light the ol' fire. Give me Jeff Goldblum, Dwayne Johnson, Taye Diggs, Vin Diesel, or LL Cool J over those guys any day.
