True or False: There is no point in Leonard and Penny or Sheldon and Amy having a baby since they don't show the babies on screen. If they don't show Halley, why would they show the others? (It would seem odd to show the other babies and not Halley.) And if they don't show the babies, would there be a point in a bunch of off-screen babies? What are your thoughts?

They don't show Baby Halley either. Still what about the "our babies will be smart and beautiful" line and Sheldon and Amy planning a born out of wedlock super baby soon after they met? No point to that either if it doesn't happen.

If anyone else gets pregnant I think it should be Penny in the final 9 months of the series, with the last episode having the baby being born and Leonard confirming that their baby is smart and beautiful.
And I liked the baby elephant in your picture. And the baby hippo. And the baby giraffe. And the baby rhino. Sometimes when I have grumpy days I tell my husband that I'm going to quit my job and go take care of the rhinoceroses (rhinoceri?) at the zoo. Except I wouldn't really because they might bonk me with their horn things.

That Kia commercial had some double-entendres in it! Land's sakes!
Do you think that if TBBT brought a baby elephant on the show it would have to stand off screen since it's a baby? What about a baby hippo? Baby lemur? Baby humuhumunukunukuapua’a?

My first thought would be the more off-screen the better.
But, I'm thinking why not have more; it's a win-win-win for everyone (fans and show).
Fans who think that "babies kill shows" get the fact of one without having to actually look at one, or see any of the ‘labored’ pretend interactions between one and the other characters.
Fans who think no sitcom marriage is complete without one get their goo-goo quote, and can ooh and aww to their heart’s content; and get to enjoy labored’ pretend interactions between one and the other characters.
The show gets all the benefits of having a kid/and not having a kid; two sets of satisfied customers (1 and 2, above). Plus, they get it all without added expense or bother; no handlers; no regs or watchdog groups; no irate actors/crew peeved at having to deal with a kid.
If there must be more babies, I say MAKE THEM ALL like Lil Miss W.

Newborns and toddlers should be implied and not seen on sitcoms in my opinion. I would not be open to having more kids on the show.

I just thought of something. The show doesn't have to show the babies but the show will have to talk abut the babies, otherwise why have them.

I agree - if we must have more babies, keep them offscreen!

Yes, a quick line about putting the baby down for a nap or mentioning how the kid kept one up all night and that's why one is tired/grumpy/looks like hell is all we need. The situation of having children can be good for a laugh or two, as long as we are mostly spared having to actually see/hear the baby.

In the case of Sheldon and Amy, there could be some bits about how disappointed he is that their child doesn't have a Nobel prize before starting preschool. And so on.
