We have seen the return, twice already, of the giant painting. Now I find that thing hideous and find it ridiculous that Penny would still have it on her wall. Unless, since we don’t see it on an actual wall, it just might be a hallucination she is having. What other prop would you like to see return or not return? The bug chair? The limited edition green lantern lantern? The Tardis?

Speaking of props--saw an article in the morning paper that made me think of this Thread. It was about the upcoming auction for the dance floor from the movie "Saturday Night Fever". Bidding start at ** $1M**.

--Can't imagine anything from this show ever going for that kind of money. Although, I do kind of think that the elevator may be worth a few $$$ someday.

I would SO buy that floor if I had the money. And the lights still worked. I thought it was so cool as a ten-year-old.

I think you've just given me an idea for a great storyline. Either single or multi-arc. Have Dr. Lorvis pass away, and he bequeaths his awesome collection of stuff to the guys. Hilarity ensues with them trying to divide it up and either keep it hidden (or argue with) the ladies on what's to be done with it.

Some definite possibilities there. And lots of potential - and funny - conflict, as with the LOTR ring.

Dr Lorvis was fairly young, though. Could they have him pass away humorously, somehow?

Never said I was incorrect; intentionally or otherwise.

It's definite that "pass" is incorrect usage. And you stated that it was intentional, with at least hints that you knew it was incorrect. Therefore you were either intentionally incorrect for some reason, possibly some misguided attempt at humor; or you're still just wrong and quite obstinate.

Death is almost always permanent. Dr. Lorvis is so great; would hate to see him go out like that.

How about instead of dying, his Mississippi "touch-O-meter" finally pays off. That is, he marries; then either because Mrs. L. is Bernie-like when it comes to his collectibles, OR because he fell out of love with them when he fell in love with her, he decides to offload them. Then, he remembers his collectibles’ most ardent fans and decides to make their day.

--OR, any scenario that does not involve Dr. Lorvis shaking hands with Gabriel.

Not a show prop (although, for all I know he could have used it in shows); but, thought about this Thread when I read the article.

Elvis Presley’s baby grand piano is up for auction on eBay:

  1. Wonder why some big auction house didn't try to feed at that trough.

  2. The estate still rakes in enough money_with_wings each year to support a small country; why auction off stuff? Seems kind of grubby.

  3. If anyone on here plans to place a bid, just so you know, you have less than three days left.

I also came across that Elvis fans now have to pay something like 40 bucks to walk past his grave, or at least enter the new complex they built. I question how long his fan base will survive and grow in the coming years.

It would be funny if they set up more than one "grave" to increase the traffic flow and hence the revenue stream. "Three graves, no waiting!"

Yeah. He would have been 82 this year--has been dead for 40 years. Gotta think his fan base is up there.

Maybe that's the reason they are auctioning off stuff; trying to off-load while there are still folks around who want to buy.

Kidding aside, pretty sure his music still sells (especially considering all the Elvis impersonators around); but, I'd bet that a lot of those Graceland $$$ are more about tourist attraction than actual reverence for the "King". Looky-loos gotta look; and don’t mind paying to do so.

Ypsilanti Michigan has a yearly Elvis Fest in the summer with Elvis impersonators from all over. I am sure there are other cities that do the same. You can just walk around and see every Elvis from every Elvis era to your hearts desire.

Maybe not trying to be predictive or prescient as much as just fun, but in the Babylon 5 episode "Epiphanies" there's a scene where Elvis impersonators arrive at the station. At that point in the series, the year is supposed to be 2261.
