Music is a device that writers can use to convey a feeling more strongly than words and facial expressions alone can. In a sitcom it can add to the comedic effect, sense of fun, sense of zaniness, etc. The only two scenes I can remember on TBBT where scenes were set to music were:
1)"Be My Yoko Ono" in The Cooper-Nowitski Theorem Link to scene
2)"Eye of the Tiger" in The Pirate Solution Link to scene
I posit that the music greatly added to these scenes and the show needs more of this.
A.Do you agree?
B.Can you think of other scenes in TBBT's history where music was employed like this?
C.Any specific songs you'd like to see on the show?

I never said that you bought something BECAUSE it was advertised on the show, I said if anybody buys a product advertised on the show they contribute to it. Here is an article about how much it costs to buy an ad during TBBT, it's over $326, 000.00 for 30 seconds (this is from 2013, I'm sure it's probably doubled by now).

Do you buy:
Cars
Dog/cat food
Breakfast cereal
Frozen foods
Apple products (phones, tablets, etc.)
Soft drinks
Beer
Cleaning products
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

But if it got to where it's 29 minutes of ads and 1 minute of show, will you still say it's not "costing" you anything?
Otherwise it's just a matter of degree.

Hmmm... I'm now wondering which song would be appropriate if we set this thread to music....

Not for you--you are good As Is.
What a sad (and dull) place the Board would be if a poster couldn’t dole out a little criticism in one Thread while engaging in a little tongue in cheek in another.

Not a problem. No doubt an Emoji would have helped--I was too lazy to look.

I like that one Z! I think I've got music in me, too. Like in my soul, not my left elbow. That's why I'd love a few more scenes set to music. It just adds to the experience for me.

None of them are earning $1M anymore. And if you have a problem with the actors earning so much, why are you saying anything about the production company, Chuck Lorre, the producers, or anybody else making an obscene amount of money off of this?
Better yet, direct your anger at pharmaceutical and insurance CEOs, who make more in a year than any of these actors will throughout the span of the show. And YOU'RE actually paying for that. That $4 coffee you have at Starbuck's cost them about $1.10. If that.
Long story short, aim the jealousy and anger at more legitimate targets. The ones who are ACTUALLY harming you and taking your money.
BTW, I AM a teacher (and an unemployed one at that), so I have more right than most people to hate these actors, but I don't because it would make me look like a petty, insecure douchebag.
