Since Buffy visits Angel (and vice versa too, I think) along the way, you should probably start watching Angel at the point where it spun off, and keep them matched up so that the crossovers make sense. At least that's how I would do it, if I did it again.
If you need help, comparing air dates here should make it easy to keep them in sync:

I have lots of them, even sometimes cases where I might sometimes wish I hadn't bothered, such as How I Met Your Mother. (I wouldn't have even started getting it except for Alyson Hannigan, and in my circle HIMYM is known as "The Willow Show.")
Have you watched the Alyson Hannigan hosted "Penn and Teller: Fool Us" program where magicians do tricks for Penn and Teller to get a slot in one of their shows. If it wasn't for Alyson I wouldn't watch it. I bet it Howard watches it when Bernie isn't looking.
I didn't realize she hosted, but it's not really my kind of show. Do you mean she's the regular host, or just once or something?
She is the host and introduces the magicians. Penn and Teller sit in chairs in front of the stage and Alyson is the eye candy. Since a lot of people would consider magic to be well kind of cheesy and Penn and Teller kind of creepy she is a good distraction. Sometimes it seems like she herself doesn't know why she is there. Good for a look even if you are not Howard.
Well, there's enough "Willow" eye candy from other stuff she's been in, without having to watch her basically just stand there. I think if I were going to watch someone just stand there, it might be Cobie Smulders. :-) (Sometimes referred to in my group as "Cubie Smolders.")
Or Kaley.
And I would say Penn and Teller are more than just kind of creepy.
