What was Sheldons motivation for proposing to Amy ?

After Ramona kissed Sheldon we saw him run off to propose to Amy. Why?
1) He got the memo that from now on its weddings and babies for everyone.
2) After Ramona kissed him he realized that his sexy physicist lips and praying mantis pelvis might attract more women and that scared him off.
3) After Ramona kissed him he thought that Amy’s beckoning caboose might attract sexy scientists and that scared him off as well.
4) After Ramona kissed him he suspected that this was a devious ploy on her part to seduce him in order to take credit on his next paper and he could not stay at Cal Tech without Amy to protect him.
5) After Ramona kissed him he thought “In what universe is this Ramona”? He then knew he might be in the Matrix after all.
6) Sheldon suspected that this might have been all secretly set up by Amy to test his fidelity. Therefore, he must propose to foil her plot.
7) The last times Sheldon suddenly left Pasadena was one time when the apartment was robbed and he felt unsafe and the other time when he felt lost and took his train trip. Did he have these feelings when he decided to propose so suddenly? Was he emotionally overwhelmed like Spock or Data would be and you know went Ka-Razy?

Whatever happened to the Lord of the Rings ring? Might it return to play a role in this storyline?
Will Penny have a giant painting of Shamy made to give as a wedding present? One that with a little soap and water will reveal the couple in the way physics intended them to be?
Wouldn’t the old Sheldon have been jealous of the new Ramona witnessing the Higgs Boson discovery?

In short, Ramona has the same hair as Thor. That's why.

Darn it all you beat me to it on this subject. Hey that could be the next Footsteps on the Moon single. "Hair like Thor", followed up by "Hair like Lemons" They would be Weird Al like parodys of Echo and the Bunnymen's song "Lips like Sugar" except its Hair like Thor. Or Hair like Lemons.

Or Hair like Znex AND Lemons. Or Hair like ZnLeThor. That sort of looks like Thor with Zinc and a French prefix in front of it. And don't be sad that I asked the question first. You gave many more exciting options so your thread is better.
But mine did have Thor in it.

To work as a song parody the title needs two syllables in the third word. Lemons would fit best

All good points. Way too good to actually make it into the show these days.
I still think it was cheating, though. Sheldon went directly from the university to the airport. So he couldn't have had the ring with him, unless he has it in his pants pocket all the time.

In the show the answer is: he loves Amy (S8E08 "The Prom Equivalency").
So the first answer comes closest:
"First Comes Love,"
"Then Comes Marriage,"
"Then Comes Baby in the Baby Carriage."
