CBS has released the first trailer for their upcoming TBBT spinoff Young Sheldon. I'm sure as most of you know it's a prequel based around Sheldon as a young kid.
Personally, I think it looks decent. I'm not a huge TBBT viewer. I watch the show on occasion. I don't love it and I don't hate it. I'll probably check out the spinoff because I mostly liked the trailer.
One thing that instantly stood out to me was the fact it is being shot single-cam and not multi-cam with a laugh track. I honestly can't think of any other multi-cam series that had a single-cam spinoff. Based off the trailer it already seems like it would be better off as a multi-cam series, but we'll see. I'm a fan of both single-cam and multi-cam sitcoms, but sadly the amount of multi-cam sitcoms on TV keep dwindling. Any time a network has the opportunity to go with a multi-cam show I say go for it.

Probably the #1 problem with a show like Young Sheldon in practical terms - overlooking things like quality of scripts etc - is the aging of the star.

Always forget to say how much I like your username...
...The interactions between Dexter & Doakes were some of the best on the show.

Loved Masuka...
A show with stellar casting; including (especially including) the guest stars.

And it really sucks that Micheal C Hall is relegated to d list acting and theater. He has more natural acting skill than most of these mainstream actors killing it in Hollywood.

It's great to meet some fellow Dexter fans. Dexter is my all time favorite series. I even enjoyed the later seasons despite what some may say about them. With all these revivals and reboots happening I would absolutely love to see a Dexter revival. I still think there is more story to tell.

Season 8 was so grueling to work on that a lot of cast didn't want to return for a possible continuation. I honestly hated how it ended, the lack of closure , ridiculousness of the finale events... Just ugh.

Same here. I'm a great fan of everything except the finale. And, I'm even willing to forgive those responsible for that episode.
From what I heard, the writers wanted one thing...the Bean Counters another. The BCs won out; so we didn't get the primo ending the writers COULD HAVE given us. Instead, we got the "more story to tell" ending that is near and dear to many fans hearts...and BCs' pockets.
Anyway, it was on for 8 seasons...we got 7 and 11/12 seasons of greatness...not too shabby.
As for returning...LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!...maybe they are waiting a few years to give Jr. time to grow up?

Yes, I definitely want to see it return. Dexter coming out of exile to help a psychopathic teenage Harrison could be a really good story line. I would miss Deb, but I always thought she could take over Harry's role.

That season 4 finale after he killed the trinity serial killer and went home to see Harry in a pool of Rita's blood it literally broke my heart. Never felt like that again in any show or movie. I genuinely cared for Rita.

I agree that Hall is very talented and could easily out act many current mainstream movie stars. In his defense though I believe theater is something that he chooses to do and isn't forced to do. Theater was how he got into acting. When he did Six Feet Under and Dexter he really didn't have much time for theater and he said he missed it. So since Dexter has ended he's devoted a lot of time to the theater world because of that.
Still though it would be nice to see him in more stuff. As a fan, the number 1 thing I want to see him do is revive Dexter. But I think he would be great in another series too. He's supposed to appear in season 2 of Netflix's series The Crown. I also think he would be great in a dark half hour comedy.
