She gave Raj a pretty firm "heave-ho"; doubtful she'll be interested in going after him. Unless, of course, she decides to use him to stay within Sheldon's circle. Since Raj is so unaware when it comes to the fairer sex, can't see that being too difficult a task.

Well, she thought she had a chance with Sheldon. Now that she doesn't, Raj could be useful either because she just wants to stay within range of Sheldon in case things change with Amy, or because he would likely be easily dominated.

It's been almost eight and a half years since Ramona, as a grad student, helped Sheldon with one of his papers on string theory (episode 2.06 "The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem").

The guys were all still single then and it would not be until a year later in the next season (season 3), when relationships would start to blossom (no pun intended ):

Penny and Leonard finally hook up, Howard meets Bernadette and Sheldon is matched with Amy via a dating site.
I've posted here on how important Sheldon was, according to Amy, in these instances.

It is strange the guys have reacted so lame, especially considering how jealous they were then that Sheldon got all the attention from female students. Sheldon thought he was on a roll, because he was getting free meals (and help with his work). He didn't even notice how infatuated these girls were with him.

Sheldon did acknowledge how indispensable Ramona was in episode 2.06:

"I could not have done it without you."

and asked her:

"How can I ever repay you?"

"You did a lot more than that. You helped me work out the masses of the fermions and you pumiced my hammertoe."

Then she made the mistake by answering:

"Would you consider naming it the Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem?

That was a big no-no , because Sheldon doesn't like sharing credit. He gave her a cold stare and said angrily:

"Get out!"

Penny met her outside at the stairs and was gloating:

"Sisters?!"

If not for wanting to share credit, who knows, Ramona might have continued assisting Sheldon, and with her unrelenting support, including taking care of his every need and wishes and keeping him focused without those useless distractions, Sheldon would have continued his work and hit on that one idea which would have lead to the Nobel Prize.

Well, Sheldon certainly is ambitious, at least in terms of what he wants to RECEIVE: the Nobel, mostly. But also universal acclaim and admiration, etc. He just hasn't seemed very interested in putting a lot of work into it.

Sheldon has felt miserable many times before and he has fought against changes every step of the way, but in the end he is happy with the rewards it brings. Afterwards, he even rationalizes all the miseries that he has gone through.

There are so many quotes about sacrificing short term pleasures for a lifelong dream:

"One has to suffer to achieve great things"

"No pain, no gain"

"Success is not a one day's work"

"When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure."

He needs someone to believe in him, someone who believes that he can be one of the great minds of the world. Someone who will keep after him no matter what, and not give in to his protests and petulant behaviour, and then sing "Warm kitty, soft kitty..." every time he feels miserable.

His friends only make fun of him, and Amy wants to get married and have a family like Howard and Bernadette.

It's now up to the writers to think of a story where Sheldon becomes a family man and also wins the Nobel Prize.

That still sounds to me more like Ramona, than Amy. I bet Ramona wouldn't drug him before a plane flight, just for one example.
