1.Sounds you made/things you did during the final scene.

Me: First: Squealed, Next: Clapped, Finally: Cried

2.Did you predict the ending during the final commercial break?

Me: I predicted the kiss. Not the proposal.

No sounds...eye brows raised? Ending wasn't unexpected but I didn't see it coming.
I enjoyed this ep as well as many this season. Fun cliff hanger.

Hold on, when did you show up here Lemons?? Busy time of year for me and WOW I'm really out of the loop.
Glad to to see you posting here now!! Hope all is well.

First of all, Hey Lemons! We missed your sunniness around here. And I hadn't seen the last four episodes because you can't get CBS in Chicago over a digital antenna (until about 2 weeks ago, which I finally figured out about 30 minutes before the ep), so I'm behind on what was happening.

The minute Sheldon left the office after Ramona kissed him, I kind of figured this is what he'd do. I do question the need to cliffhanger Amy's response, though. Are they going to walk back a four-year setup and have her say no? And if she plans to accept, why the need for a cliffhanger? You don't need one for a "yes" answer.

...but will it be "yes"?

It seems more likely that Sheldon would have taken a train, no matter what. And especially since it wasn't like Amy would be going somewhere else soon. But if he had flown, he would have insisted that someone else go with him.

My second (and third I suppose) most significant observation(s) about the episode: Kaley Cuoco has aged well. Riki Lindhome has not.

Could the episode have been written/produced before it was known if Mayim's contract would be renewed?

I think that's exactly why it was filmed with a cliffhanger

I suspect so. But even aside from that, they might have wanted to make it a "cliffhanger" just to hopefully get more people to come back in the fall. If they'd had any answer from Amy - either yes OR no - it would have seemed more conclusive and some people might have been content to leave it at that.

Hi poptop!! It's good to see you, too! I landed on this new planet last Saturday after a brief hiatus due to work demands. I'm glad to see several other former imdb'ers are here, too. I hope this board will become more and more active.

This is my theory, Knixon. You are right that under normal circumstances Sheldon would prefer train travel. However, last night some emotion (guilt, love, shock, all of the above) took over and gave him determination and courage that outweighed any distaste for planes. Plus he wanted to get there fast. I thought Jim Parsons did a great job in that scene. There was a clear determination and focus in his actions- his mind was only on one thing and that was to get to Amy. And as we know, when he's determined and focused (remember the ball pit?) nothing else matters.

Hey Murph!! I missed you, too. hugging I'm so glad we get to play on a new board together. And you're right- I wondered the same thing about the need for a cliffhanger. After my initial giddiness wore off, I started thinking, "Oh no! What if Sheldon tells Amy about the kiss and she gets mad? Or what if she says no for some reason?" I sure hope that won't be the case.

I thought it was a great episode. I usually don't like cliff hangers but this one doesn't bother me at all. It was obvious they would wait until next season for her response. I did not expect Sheldon to do that.

I was pleasantly surprised by the proposal. It was very sweet, and I'm sure they left it as a cliff hanger because they wrote the episode before Mayim's contract negotiations were over. Amy will be a total bridzilla. lol

Oh, I also thought Ramona is too thin to have been an Olympic swimmer. Even if she lost weight later, she doesn't even seem to have enough bone structure. They should have picked something else to make her sound more desirable than Amy.

Just watched it and my first reaction was to gasp oh my god, followed by clapping and a hearty Yay! I did not see that coming at all - funny episode and great season ender!

Great post!

I squealed and clapped! It was so lovely!

My prediction was that he was going to Amy, but that he was going there to tell her what happened.

I figured that Sheldon dealt with the plane because he was so focused on his mission to get to Amy to propose.

I predict that Amy will say yes. It was the only episode of the season where I was really focused throughout, so I will be sad if it was all for nothing.
