讨论 The Big Bang Theory

During the last episode, Sheldon told Amy that she should ride in her suitcase to New Jersey because he read it was indestructible in a plane crash. Wouldn't it be better to put the entire airplane inside of one of those (really big) suitcases so the whole plane would survive the plane crash?

I might actually ride in an airplane then.

So glad to hear my idea of what your voice sounds like lemons :p

Agreed. That way United Airlines could make overbooked people ride outside the plane.

So glad to hear from you, too, young lady! I see you have adopted a new moniker on this planet. You know how Sheldonian I am. Perhaps I could come up with a suitable hybrid. Perhaps Calabrica? EriQueen? I'm afraid you're always gonna be Erica to me.

And I'm glad you agree with the logic of my proposal. Silly Sheldon. How does he think he's gonna win a Nobel prize, overlooking the obvious like that??

Not sure if a hybrid is for me, but we can always consult this:https://youtu.be/zoHfu315U9c

I'm thinking they drop this military project all together and tap into this rising Giant suitcase market.

I didn't even think about the environmental benefits of the name mix n' match!

And if the fellas were smart, they would have COMBINED the gyroscope and suitcase projects. I mean, if a plane is flying inside of a suitcase, the pilot ain't gonna be able to see a thing! They're gonna need a guidance system to figure out where to go!

Don't tell me that you are afraid to fly...because I sure am! Just one more thing we have in common! laughing

Yes ma'am! Escalators and airplanes are no-no's. Whenever our centipede-free cupcake-eating session in a meat locker ever occurs, we're gonna be driving to it!! smile blue_car

I'm ok with escalators but we can certainly avoid those, elevators are just fine if the need to ascend to another level arises (smile )

I don't mind flying, I just hate that I basically have to get naked to get through security. And their wands ALWAYS detect my piercings.

I don't think Amy will have to worry about being stopped for piercings, but she might be questioned for traveling inside of her suitcase. And of course, this method of travel begs the next question: Where will she pack her belongings? Can she, Girard, and a pair of orthopedic shoes all fit into that one suitcase? I think Sheldon took a marijuana before he made that suggestion! airplane_small

And she would certainly need help packing herself, which means the security question "did you pack your own luggage?" would have to be answered "no." That means trouble!

You're not allowed to bring Girard's on airplanes. Don't ask me how I know.

Of course you are. I do it all the time (bf and I travel often and BOB always comes with on the plane carry-on) Also Amy's Girard is a toothbrush. She may certainly bring it on the plane

Good point! Though I'm not sure the airport employees will be able to hear her answer from inside her suitcase. Will her muffled responses suffice? Will Sheldon have to answer the security questions for her? Will he be allowed to? If not will he call them Poopyheads? This could get downright ugly.

Yeh how does Amy go through the lines and stuff anyway, while inside the suitcase? Sticking arms out the suitcase to push along the floor or something?

But if her arms are sticking out, does that mean that if the plane crashes only her torso, head and legs survive? Then she'd be like that knight in The Holy Grail. She'd have to stay in the suitcase-all of her- for this plan to be worth it. Perhaps Sheldon could arrange for some sort of handtruck to cart her into the airport.
