I remember her also. I think many on this thread do. She was important. Her postings are what caught my attention and got me involved. She was always calm. Firm, but rarely snarky. And then her postings ended.
I think it was Murph that finally found a way for us to help.
PLarkin was her name, her real name too it seems bcause people gave her a hard time about using a fake one for online when that's the norm, her name just popped up in my head, I didn't have to look it up
PKLarkins, yes. But it was someone else (not me) who started the GoFundMe campaign to help her husband offset the costs of her funeral.
Not sure who gave her a hard time about using her actual name, but they were idiots for doing so.
Hope we've left those idiots (kind word) behind us.
Wish my memory was better. Someone on the old BB threads also knew PK from the food posts and that's where her husband let her on-line family know of her passing. I've stopped getting updates from Gofundme.
She was a daily, prolific poster. Lemons may have been the heart of the old place, but PK was the house-mom that tried to keep things in order.

I never knew there was a GoFundMe for the family, that's really lovely.
What would be great with the new beginning, would be if everyone can refrain from replying to the troublemakers, and just hit ignore. It's something that is already a missed feature over at movie chat...
I'm here pop! Good to see my BBT peeps! I can't believe they shut the board down so early - I went on around 11:30, figuring I would stay on until it disappeared. I was so disappointed it was already gone!
Gothish - so glad you're here! I missed the cutoff for imdb and didn't get to say goodbye to everyone!
Glad you're here too! :D Yeah IMDB really stuck it to us, I heard the boards were gone by 8:30 pm Eastern US time. Guess the wanted to add insult to injury!
Hey Goth!
You hear anything from Lemons?
We messaged a few times right after the board shut down - I tried to recruit her over here, not sure if she's going to make the leap yet lol.

We rarely agreed on any given subject but that's ok! I noticed fairly quickly when she stopped posting. She was one of the regulars that you just expected would comment on nearly every thread.
My favorite PK story: the subject of How I Met Your Mother came up, and she reiterated her extreme distaste for Ted (whom I happened to like). I asked her "You mean you wouldn't want to go with him to the ReNAYsance Faire, and then back to his apartment to peruse an encycloPAYdia?" to which she replied with a laughing face "I would like to hit him up side the head with that encycloPAYdia! And by the way, he was wrong about that pronunciation."
Not sure who gave her a hard time about using her actual name, but they were idiots for doing so.
Well, I'm not sure what the definition of a hard time is, but telling her it was a nutty thing to do would have, imo, been helpful advice.
My original IMDB screen name/account was started back in the 90's. Back then the net was in it's infancy. I didn't use my real name, but suffice to say it wasn't a very good job of hiding it, and anyone with half a brain could have figured out who I was. And doing that on the internet is like playing Russian Roulette. You're just begging for these trolls to fuck with you.
There's one idiot - one of IMDB's biggest trolls - that CJH clown, who's screen name led to people identifying him. The poor sap never lived it down.
If you're on a public board like this - be VERY careful who you let know your true identity. I can count on one hand (with one finger) how many people out on message boards that know who I really am. It's just not a good idea.
I just made an account today. Moviechat.org was the website I'd been using up until now, but there doesn't seem to be many people using it. I have a feeling my IMDB account won't be used again.
Well, here I am. It's different. I'll be more comfortable when I get all my stuff moved in.
Hi Kiwigirl, I'm a Kiwi too! Just moved here from IMDb. Really liking the place - Feels like home. Friendly, cool people. Hope you'll be happy here and stay!
"Really liking the place - Feels like home. Friendly, cool people. Hope you'll be happy here and stay!"
We only do that to lead you on. After 5 or 10 years we'll start saying cruel things about the way you dress. Just saying...

Just signed up! I refuse to go to imdb at all now. Glad I found this, as rotten tomatoes sucks, in my opinion...
Poking around here yet? Looks interesting.

Rotten Tomatoes is terrible. How dare they give Home Alone a rotten rating.
OMG, you're right! I can't believe that critics gave Home Alone a rotten rating. Just further proof that "professional movie critics" don't know their a** from their elbow.
It might still be too early for good numbers, but has anyone seen any reports yet of imdb usage/page visits/etc since Feb? imdb claimed that the boards/forums were a tiny part of their traffic, but it would be interesting to see if the hard facts have proven them wrong.
I was an IMDb refugee. lol. I've been tweeting about tmdb, trying to lure the lost souls of imdb to my new abode. Anyway I like this site. It's virtualy troll free.

Yes, I used to hang around the IMDb boards.
