I signed up here after the warning that IMDb was closing their boards down, but I don't see anything that works at all like it. I'm disappointed. I'm interested in a number of shows, but I tried specifically searching this site for NCIS and for This Is Us -- and seemed to get nowhere.
I'll try, poptop. I can't even find the thread about whether people are deleting their IMDb accounts. I replied on it and then went over to IMDb to try to delete it. I specifically clicked on their "delete account" link (after their warning that I really didn't WANT to delete it) but found no way to do that either! This is all just so frustrating!
During the 2 weeks IMDb was closing down, there was a lot of users suggesting different sites to continue the IMDb message board experience. I find this site out of all of them the best and most professional looking. I also love the notifications feature. Really hope we get majority of posters from IMDb come over here, bar the trolls.

I had the same problem. After getting rid of the app on my phone, I went back a bit later, and it had deleted, it just didn't give you a confirmation. I tried to log in and out said the account didn't exist.

Thanks, jetfire for the link. I find one of the most important features of a website is having good searching ability. I've probably made it clear by now that I'm not exactly super tech-savy, so I had no luck finding out how to perform a "search" for that thread -- as opposed to me running around the site and trying to find it myself. I swear, I didn't use to be so dumb.
And, SeinfeldFriend, I'll be very surprised if I actually deleted my account, it certainly didn't seem like I did, but maybe I got lucky and it was deleted like yours. But I refuse to go over there and check!

No problem. Glad I could help.
I thought the same thing when I deleted mine. I only went back because it was bugging me that they kept my account when I wanted to closed! Even if they brought the boards back now, there is no way I would go back!
did you all import your lists before closing your acc. I imported my 4695 rated movies and tv series here I really didn't want to lose them after all that work over the last nine years on imbd.very thankful for tmdb for setting it up so we could do it.
I was a lite, under-attached poster on IMDb. So, showed up here “with ONLY the clothes on my back”…left everything, bag-and-baggage, behind.

I thought about it. In the end, I decided to start completely fresh. No baggage whatsoever.
I'm here pop! Good to see my BBT peeps! I can't believe they shut the board down so early - I went on around 11:30, figuring I would stay on until it disappeared. I was so disappointed it was already gone!
Hello Gothish and company!
I planned my farewell itinerary and before going to bed on Sunday I wanted to visit several favourite boards. I intended to return later for what I had presumed would be the Pacific Time "lights out".
I wanted to wave nearly 20 years of reading IMDb goodbye on the Broken Blossoms (1919) board - my very first read. From boyhood to manhood, I've learned so much from IMDb posters. They provided obscure film/telly information and recommendations I found no where else. Losing TWoP and others was hard; this was worse.
So, I was composing replies to TBBT "Destruction of a Library" and "Favorite Posters" threads. (I even had a fresh virtual handkerchief at the ready to dab away my Lady of Lothlorien's tears.) As I was typing, the blasted thing slammed shut. A final, wordless, slap-in-the-face "D'oh"!
I realised it was just after midnight, and it was indeed the 20th - here. But using Greenwich Mean Time meant North Americans were abruptly and unceremoniously dispossessed by early evening/afternoon.
Ending by time zone, or at least announcing a universal cut-off hour would have been a more dignified exit for such an iconic Internet institution. I've experienced a number of board closures on a wide variety of subjects, but IMDb's had to be among the most graceless.
Then, within minutes, my Android tablet was apparently so enraged by the event that it went into sudden shock. Electronic cardiac arrest. Blank. Bricked. What? *WHAT!? *
Bah! Well, disconcerted but undeterred, we have no choice but to carry on...
Oh Synchary! I would so have appreciated that handkerchief to wash away my delicate virtual tears. As it was they turned to virtual tears of rage when I logged on to say goodbye and everything was gone. Those blasted....clears throat well a Lady does not use such language. Let it be recorded that I was mightily put out!
I'm still trying to figure out how this site works. Can I reply to a specific comment or just tack something on at the end.
Oh-yeah..long time IMBD addict
I think this answers your question. There should be a "quote" button at the bottom of the message to which you want to respond. Without a threaded format, that is crucial.

Here is a link to the NCIS board here. It only has one thread at present. https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4614-ncis/discuss

I'll worry about deleting my IMDb account the next time I visit that site.
